Backrow was awesome tonight. Would have liked Eddie and Schatz on for the last 15 to 20. Might have put a bit more starch into the forwards to finish the game with.

What a difference Ant made in the centres when he came on!! Anyone know what is with Slipper? Looked like an ankle, last year he had like 8 weeks out with that.

I was trying to work out who came on for Robinson early 2nd half, Shatz surely? Higgers moved to six.

Simmons put in his best effort all season. Same with Daley.

The pack actually worked as a unit tonight. I am really warming to the two flyers on the side of the scrum, with Higgers at 8. Higgers looks quite comfortable at 8, his workrate was massive tonight.

Our defence was patchy at times, which allowed the Blues to threaten on numerous occasions. The line held though, which I am immensely happy with. The line got even better when finger went on, and god it was good to hear his high pitched squeal again!

Even though the pigs went well, there are still some areas that concern me. We turned the ball over too much in the ruck. We spoiled opposition ball quite well, but failed to protect and secure our own on numerous occasions. Also, body height in contact was too high at times. This lead to the Blues holding us up and forcing a maul, which we would then turnover possession.

Good signs, the boys actually played like a team again, which is encouraging. Lots to work on, but lots to work with. Great win.

When you consider a Queensland side has never won at Eden Park this win is immense! I don't care if the Blues are at the bottom of the table they still have a very strong roster & have challenged better placed teams on the table in recent weeks. This is a win for the ages! Woohoo!

Definitely a huge improvement by the Reds, but the Blues were awful.

Their lineout was just atrocious and they made far too many errors. It's going to be a long season for the Blues.

I know it's because the Tahs are playing on Sunday, but a Friday night without a 7:30pm game is horrendous! Oh the humanity!

The reds had the momentum to get the bonus in the game. Help our cause if we don't get the 2 wins against the tahs and brum's. Hard next 2 weeks for the reds. And we played well part of the game but fuck me look at the next 2 weeks. Also I'm being Greedy as Im off OS Soon and would love a home GF again . ;)

Doesn't matter what position he comes onto, Greg Holmes always seems to somewhat stabalise the scrum.

You heading to the club tomorrow. Reds win Friday night and a home east game vs the filth. Can't not help go and stir those mugs. :) good way to start the season.

Great game. Actually loved watching all game Simmons muscling up on defence and not being pushed around around the breakdown. Geez that combination of Gill and Robinson is going to be immense in the last 20 - 30 mins of games come the latter stages of the round games. I thought Lucas was solid all game and will provide a solid platform for forwards to work off of until Quade returns. Finally back to the normal reds of throwing it wide and backing their speedsters! Great Footy!

i thought piri weepu was absolutely terrible. some awful decision and forced passes by him.
he'd be nowhere near all black selection at this point.
he is still sweet though....fat backs have a special place in my heart...all hail the almighty rupeni caucaunibuca aka the other wing
as in lomu goes on one wing in my all time team and rupeni on the other wing.

I still cant believe they didn't go for the bonus point.

I would have taken a quick tap and just peppered the line until we got over. Worst case scenario we make an error and the blues do a clearing kick into touch before the halfway line.
