The point is, he doesn't look, play, think, smell like a wing. And I can't quite fucking believe the whole thing, quite frankly.

Just saw footage of that McCaw try in Sydney & JOC (James O'Connor) must have taken a bribe or promised his All Black loving father he'd throw the game.

Sure Mccaw broke early but what was JOC (James O'Connor) thinking.

He was eligible for all 3 SANZAR nations right? He has a very strong Saffer accent - has even lived there?

I have said right from the start of selecting JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing that he was not a winger. I was pilloried for my critique of him and then again in Bled III we saw the fundamental error of his positioning again. He is not a winger.

He is a gifted footballer no doubt but his position has been rightly identified as 12 and possible as a stand in 10, his form for the Force when he replaced Harris gives me some hope for that.

What I do not want to see happen to JOC (James O'Connor) as happened with Giteau and to a certain degree with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is that he becomes a jack of all trades and master of none.

When Giteau was moved to 9 and then 10 he was the best 12 in Oz and one of the best in the world. Now most astute Rugby observeds will rate him second, third and possible fourth best in Oz at 12. His form has been average to poor for better than 2 years and he has been carried by the rest of the team and on a few occassion has in fact cost the team the game through his inability to kick under pressure. I have said many times that a series of coaching failures and misjudgements may have destroyed the possibility that Giteau could have been regarded as the equal of Horan at 12. Now he will be lucky to be remembered in Oz rugby as anything other than an overpaid, overhyped player who was on the recieving end of awards even he was embarrassed to get.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has been in the same boat, Mr Fix-It has been the first stop for every injury in the backline except the halves. Is it any wonder that he has struggled to show his form and ability at 13 this year?

Re the accent, bullshit.

Born in Australia. Played all his football in Australia, except for five years in Auckland as a child. Educated at Nudgee. Speaks with a completely standard GPS Queensland accent.

"I can't think of a long term 12 that was blooded on the wing."- Ma'a Nonu first played on the wing and is now a 12.

JOC (James O'Connor) was chased down by Kankowski, but he didn't have a head start, he slowed down to take the pass and kankowski didn't have to slow, so when JOC (James O'Connor) got the ball kankowski was accelerating towards him and caught him, the same thing would happen if CJ van de linde was chasing habana. Also kankowski is one of the fastest back rowers in the world.

JOC (James O'Connor) has no RSA accent his grandparents are from RSA but as Groucho said born in Aus raised in Aus went to auckland for a few years and then came back and was nudgeefied.

JOC (James O'Connor) will switch to 12 after RWC 2011 and as Gagger said Dingo just wants him on the pitch for experience and his footwork and ability

Dingo knows JO'C is the next great Aussie 12 - post RWC and Giteau. In the meantime wants his freakish man-beating skills on the park and to rack up the tests, hence winger, or full-back, or where-ever the fuck he can fit him in.

Sounds like Gagger's been doing some man-beating himself.:lmao:

:D

:)

Himself.

:(

Well, I thought it was funny.

Yeah. I thought, by partial defintion, moderators were moderate. I guess this is just another area where Gagger breaks the mould.

Perhaps 'Trollerator' would be more appropriate?

Although I'm not sure who's doing who at any given time.

I can't justify what Deans sees in Ma'fu but he is not the only one to see somthing in Daley. Link sees somthing and there seems to be a general consenus is that Link knows his stuff in this department. Daley's selection is justified on his future potential and a consistantly respectable season for his Super Rugby Franchise, not some good form for his club side. Like others I can't help but wonder what Weeks has done to upset the selectors as selection would be justified on the same basis as Daley's was. Maybe the young mans attitude needs adjustment or something.

I see plenty in Daley as well, a heap of potential. But the Wallabies should not be selected on potential alone not even the squad. Kepu for instance is a proven Test player and was at least as good in S14 form as Daley before he was injured. As you say I would argue the same for Weeks.
