The Queensland Bulls?
Part of the reason we have no crowds at Super games is because on a Saturday, rugby people would prefer to be on the lash at their clubhouse then go watch a dross uncompetitive product. Who are these vast vast majorities of people you know who attend Super Rugby in the first place?
Waratahs and Reds I think are fine.I disagree, if you want the slightest bit of attachment to the team then make it easy for people to recognise who the hell they are supporting, as opposed to some stupid name that you have to spend millions to get any level of brand loyalty outside of committed fans who know what you are on about...
The clubs owe it to the players to improve their coaching of the talent they have. Then we might see more competing for Super Rugby positions.But the standard is being played at a much, much higher level than club rugby…

Brumbies should've the Canberra Kookaburras
Rebels = Victoria Axemen
Force = Western Australia
No one claimed it was gonna save Australian rugby. I will claim that it will re invigorate our base. So many rugby players or rugby adjacent people dont even follow super rugby. Or played union or all their life but follow NRL instead and occasionally tune in for the wallabies.Ideas like this have been discussed in detail on these forums for years.
It's a little frustrating when someone who joined the forum a month ago talks about (and I'm paraphrasing) how to save Australian Rugby in three easy steps.
I like John Murray and he's done a lot for Easts which is the club I support and played with as a junior. His article does absolutely nothing to touch on any of the difficulties that would be faced by what he suggests or whether it is viable to achieve the purpose it is intended for.
These old brands have more history associated with them. I'm just spit balling.I'm not seeing any brand improvements here...

The Axemen and Kookaburras where the old representive sides of those states.Aside from the Reds and Tahs, which historical brands?

I have got the feeling there's been too many head knocks...
Instead of snide comments give us valid alternatives to super rugby then? Or do you think super rugby in current form is working?
While we may have similar player bases to the English and French, we are very different geographically. I don't think it's an apt comparison.Well then what do you think will work? Once a upon a time the english and french where all amateur clubs.
The lack of tribalism and connection toward super sides, apathy from many rugby fans toward super rugby etc.
Tribalism is different when your playing neighbours everyday as opposed to an artificial NZ franchise based in nothing.Are you describing an Australian problem... or is this a NSW problem?
