He was just swanning around Japan but is returning next season. By all rights he should be banished to the stands of Eden Park though. Hopefully Cotter does what's best for the Blues and ignores any (likely) requests to start him at 10 (or anywhere, tbh). The killdozer doesn't need his self-cottonwooling negativity.

Just realised this also means Beauden will be the goal kicker. Well. If he misses the first then might as well bring McKenzie on immediately just to kick goals.

Though it would be funny if they lost because Barrett has a not uncommon kicking disaster. Even funnier if Barrett has a not uncommon kicking disaster, McKenzie comes on in the final quarter, goes nuts setting up tries and kicking goals, and they still lose by 3 because of the preceding not uncommon Barrett kicking disaster.
