Wasnt there a ban or limitation on new contracts due to financial constraints at the time?

Personally i think five years is good if they are a player of his potential and its not for a ridiculous sum of money.

Yeah I think they’re might have been a contract negotiation freeze. But surely it wouldn’t have been for 5years. It would have been until World Cup (3yrs max). He’s only signed for 2 years. He could be back b before then. I don’t think we’re desperate to acquire him given our winger depth.

“All in” haha that’s a new one. He always wanted to be a leaguie and took his chance at the first opportunity. And we are hardly short of talented outside backs
