My geography is a bit rusty, but from memory Tuggeranong is quite a large suburb with Kambah at the top near Townsville, and then it stretches down south beyond Banks to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.

It's quite a nursey the likes of Ikitau and Lolesio have graduated from.
Dont blame the Brumbies for being the only Aussie team that can actually improve young players

Doesn’t cocaine have a very short half life or whatever it is called, as in it metabolises out of the system very quickly, around 24hrs. He’s either a regular user or they’ve picked him up over a weekend.

I recall some of my mates who were playing with the Tahs during the late 2000s when the cocaine boom was really hitting the streets in Sydney and the club doctors were discreetly keeping some players out of the training sessions with ‘injuries’ when rumours went around about testing after a big weekend.

With regards to the rumours of our best players looking to Japan soon, can’t help but think there is a huge drum up from the player managers to put pressure on RA to either pay more money or let anyone be selected regardless of location.

It’s in the best interests of a player agent here in Oz if RA decide to open the doors to a free market in terms of overseas selection.

For the young guns coming through there would no longer be a financial vs international pathway decision. No doubt it would see more of them picking up larger deals overseas after only a year or two in SRP (Super Rugby Pacific). Guys like Isaac Lucas and Hockings are recent examples of players only proven to be barely Super Rugby starting standard getting bumper deals.

The metabolites of cocaine can be detected in urine for ~3 days, or up to a week for heavy users.

If I understand the story correctly, a prominent player agent presented a business plan to the Reds about 13 years ago which basically aimed to make Australian Rugby a feeder to Japan rugby.

I heard the story 3rd hand at best so no doubt it didn’t play out exactly how I am understood it, but I believe it was pretty widely know about when it happened.

Why not strike a deal where super players can go to Japan and play rugby but Japan teams also have to pay super teams
I.e Harry Wilson can go to Toshiba on $1.5M a year and qualify for wallabies provided that reds are compensated based off some
Formula.
players largely stay in timezone and just 10 hours away. Shorter season like super so better longevity than European leagues.

Why would the Toshiba agree to pay the Reds on top of a $1.5m contract for the player?

With that in mind my guess would be he has developed a reputation for it amongst the Club and this was an expected result by Pau. Not a set up but lets test Reece on Monday and see.... Hopefully the public shaming squares him up. Mistakes are made but don't keep making them type thing.

Not great when you've only played 6 games and your team sites 11th. You become very expendable if your'e seen as more effort than worth.

Yeah, I've worked with guys that were sweating bullets prior to walking into the testing, had a weekend off and hit it hard with their friends back home. They walked out of the testing with swagger, and their chest was pumped when they tested clean.

It was fascinating to watch the psychological impact of someone going from thinking their career was over to a new lease on life in a matter of 5 minutes, I can't say it changed their habit, though.

Unsure if he's referring to a transfer style fee (like you see in Football) where a new club will pay the old club $XX,XXX,XXX for that old club to relinquish that player from their contract.

Obviously that only works if the player is under contract, free agents are free to do whatever.

Transfer style fees require tying worthy players to multi year contracts and essentially selling the rights to the balance of that contract

Aus players living in a world where, at most, they get 3 years(?) doesn't add a lot of leverage for some transfer

It's really really important for people to understand the difference between:

Transfer Fees - Private arrangements between two professional sports employers to transfer the current contract of a player between them in exchange for mutually determined financial compensation.

Training Compensation - A FIFA regulatory requirement for international transfers and registrations of professional players aged 23 and under, that sets a minimum fee for the registration to be signed off on; and

Solidarity Payments - A FIFA regulatory requirement that 5% of a transfer fee is withheld from the receiving club, to be distributed to the clubs the player played with during years 12-23, solely for the purpose of training and educating players,

If a player like McReight goes, that definitely does not fall into the "meh, there is plenty of depth in that spot, he won't be missed" category. Ikitau is not much different.
There is no scenario in the near future where RA can compete with that sort of money across the board. Unless there is a wage recession in Euro Rugby, there are pretty difficult times ahead for RA. Realistically it seems more and more likely that we will need to pick players from wherever they are.
We’ll be right mate the game is on the up. Plenty of blokes in the hunt for the 7 jersey.
