I thought Barnes at fullback was a massive improvement over Beale, he has the balls to attack the ball in the air, and his long punting game is a currently a lot better then Beale

Once again I was embarrassed by the Wallabies. It was disgraceful at times.
The Pumas will always give everything they have and I would like to give them some credit but .....

I am sick and tired of extremely poor backlines. They don't know how to position themselves, can't pass and can't catch. The only time a back was in the right position was DI when he scored that try at the end.
People can lust on about how good Cooper or any of the others are individually, but really they just don't put it together at all.
The great backlines of Wallabies past must sick to the stomach of the rubbish dished up test after test.

I saw so much more attacking structure in the Shute shield GF than I did in the last 3 Wallaby games.

Im not sure what he best position is, but Patty McCabe is such a good player. He is exactly the type of bloke who will be amongst the core of our team (Pocock, Genia, Horwill etc) that will drag Australia to be a powerhouse again. Drag in the sense that his actions will (both on and off the paddock) lift the standards of the group.

Definatly. Up untill last night I'd kind of always had the perception that he was a good player, but not sure where he fitted in the big scheme of things. But he needs to be in the team, whether that be at 12 or 13. I thought his partnership with Ashley-Cooper worked well, Patty distributed when he needed to.

Respectfully disagree. Taps cannot play 13 whatsoever, although I do agree that a center combination of Taps and McCabe could be incredibly lethal. I dont think JOC (James O'Connor) is a 12 anymore.

For me, the Wallabies have improved over the last two games. The Pumas were again on form last night and the Wallabies fronted up well. I liked Barnes at fullback, I liked McCabe at 12.

There were mistakes and lapses of course, and if those can be ironed out the Wallabies should have won more comfortably.

For Argentina, great to see them putting together a string of good performances, indicating they are a quality team. They looked massively gutted to lose last night, and I hope they notch up a win soon (just not against the Boks).

No, Harris was at 10. Taps was 12. Aidan was 13 for a bit, so too Rapana and a few others.

Oh well, I do believe he is an out-and-out 12. But I've seen enough of him at 13 (and yes I'm almost certain he did play a handful of games there this season), to suggest he is capable there but not at Wallaby level.

btw was pissed off to watch AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) draw the centre and winger to him and free up Ioane only to ignore him and take the contact. Again!

I've seen a lot of him as a young bloke and as a club player: he can play anywhere from 10 to 15 but his best position at club level is fullback. How that relates to test level is moot, but it's not likely that he will be playing a lot there for the Brumbies; so it's probably irrelevant except when a stop gap is needed.

Yeah Douglas is a hard case. It's good we should have competition for this role, with Pyle, Neville and Jones coming through. One or two of them is going to be world class.

Of these Douglas is the best TH lock and Pyle has the potential to be a good one. Jones shouldn't be a lock at all at test level for a while.

There's a lot of fellows who are as tall and heavy as Jones is playing in test matches but they are a harder type of player. At the minute young Jones is a skills and work rate lock at the Super level, and a very good one. I don't think you will see Jones debuting for the Wobs in the 2nd row as Douglas did. When his time comes, and it will, it will be as cover for 6 and lock. But later on if he gets to be a hard head and thickens out a bit my opinion may have to change.

As for Neville, he could be a smokey for the EOYT. The more I see of him the more he reminds me of Hugh McMeniman. He has been playing 6 for Manly in the Shute Shield and his agility and speed around the park have embarrassed a few backs. Like Jones, he is not the hard nosed player I hope he becomes, but it is definitely a watch this space situation.

McCabe must have been a a real handful at lower levels. He is such a hard runner and picks really good lines.
