Get your hand off it!o_O

He played 4 or 5 very good games, and a few average one's.

However, the Reds were a rabble for most of them, so he stood out, especially with Fainga'a injured.
Okay name a center who played better in the first 8 rounds? Best back may have been a stretch with Lealiafano and Mogg playing well. But asides from that I stan by my statement.

Pretty poor showing by the wallabies. Get here at 3:30 they already training its now 3:45 and all the forwards fuck off to the gym a few hundred ppl watching backs do laps. From the 5 mins they where running backline plays. Barnes wascat 12 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13 shipps at 14 with beale at 15. Also goid the see shehan here getting a run.

Id be pretty stoked with that backline.

Again, people seem to be forgetting Quade past when they say that he relishes the Springbok encounters. Anyone remember our last game against the Boks? The missed tackles, the poor passes, kicking out on the full, and having a 22m restart charged down?

Grumbles is reporting a likely team of:

1. Robbo
2. Moore
3. Alexander
4. Timani
5. Sharpe
6. Dennis
7. Hooper
8. Samo
9. Genia
10. Quade
11. Digby
12. Barnes
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14. Shipps
15. Beale

Some interesting ones there. When does the real team get announced?

The team is announced this afternoon. Overall that is a pretty good team, the backline is pretty much spot on from who is available. The forwards, well, I think Slipper should be starting at THP and I would have Higgers at 6. In saying that, putting Higgers on the bench might give him a wake up.
The bench will be interesting.

I don't think Higgers problem is from lack of trying, he just doesn't have a rugby or any kind of contact sport background... He only took up rugby when he was 17 and was put on the wing..

Both teams will be up from last week but i think the Boks will take it. After being lucky to get a draw against the 8th ranked team they will have been given a boot fair up the ass and told to have a good think about whether they want to keep representing their country.

Our coach on the other hand comes out and tells the players and public to forget about the Abs, they are too good. What incentive does this give the players to improve? He may as well tell them that all they need to do is come out and play as well as they did last week and it's in the bag. So much for the all the talk of last year when Horwill was adamantly pushing that we want to, and will be the top side. 12 months later we have already given it up. Proof enough for me that Deans has no more to offer rugby in this.

I don't think we can afford to carry Higgers & Gill on the bench as I think Cummins will be there as outside cover with Taps or Horne covering inside.

I think Gill or Simmons (Dennis or Samo can cover lock) will miss out

Grumbles only lists likely starters. I'm guessing your bench prediction is not far off. That said, he's usually wrong on one or two of the starters.

I'd say that Dennis has been slightly better than Higgers in the last two matches, but I'd still start the QLDer. He's more likely to have a great impact, IMO, at 6 than he did at 8.

We cant carry a fetcher on the bench IMO

20. Phipps
21. Tapuai
22. Horne

In case of injuries to the outside backs I expect AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) to slide out and Horne come into 13

In gonna put my 'Reds fan' case forward and say I would prefer to take Shatz on the bench over Gill considering his work rate and playing style.. But he is injured so that argument is null and void anyway..

I just prefer the extra bulk and ball carrying ability.. Fetchers are niche forwards and aren't a necessity in the team IMO.

The problem is that some fetchers are too specialist. Hooper's strong performance in Bled 2 was as much about ball running as it was about ruck work. With the shift in the way the game is being interpreted, selectors really need to consider the role carefully. It seems like we're still reacting to Pocock's injury before the Ireland game. The problem then wasn't that there was no one else in the squad who could fetch. It doesn't mean we need a second fetcher in every match day 22.

From the scrum stuff i watched yesterday. (a whole 10 min session WOOO no wonder we suck at scrums.) The forward pack that Growden has would be correct as would the backs. Also good to see higgers have a shave and a hair cut had to look twice to remember what he looked like.

Was interesting to watch the scrum session. The one with Paddy TON and Slipper was destroying Robbo Moore and Alexander. even when they packed down a full 8v8 they still went backwards.

I don't think Dennis over Higginbotham would be a good selection. Both have been playing shit, but I think Higgers running style and more importantly his line-out jumping are bit more vital then whatever it is Dennis does.

Maybe the thinking is that we have to get maximum impact from number 8 and the way to do that is to start Samo and then bring Higgers on so he can go harder for a shorter period of time.

Personally I would have started Higgers at 6 and moved him to 8 when Samo came off.
