He is not he prop with the pie related injury. That is Alexander when he comes off at the end. From the last couple of tests, Alexander deserves that pie!

Surely the distance travelled makes a difference.

If I was going from Sydney to Brisbane or Sydney to Auckland, I can see travelling on the day of the game being fine.

If I'm flying halfway round the world, I'd like a few days to recover.

Absolutely. The theory is to fly to Safferland, train at sea level, then fly to the game on the day.

Just watched this. How good is Benn Robinson when he is fit and not when looking like my avatar!

I honestly don't think Benn Robinson is any bigger now than he was then. Sure, he isn't the same player as he once was, but he isn't any fatter IMO.

I really think people need to give Benn Robinson time.

All the talk is about how Quade Cooper needs more time to overcome his knee reco. Benn Robinson has had exactly the same operation.

It is highly likely Will Genia will have trouble regaining his top form next season.

How many people come back from a knee reconstruction and are at their peak soon afterwards?

You're probably right, he does need more time. But Like I said about Beale, the national team isnt the place to get that time.

I thought Cooper was ready, but obviously he was just like Mitchell and I hope they don't make the same mistake with Genia.

The unfortunate thing is that we had options for Robinson, Mitchell and probably Beale, it wasn't a necessity that they be in the team so soon. We probably aren't afforded that same option with Cooper and I happily admit I wanted him in there sooner rather than later.

Assuming Deans gets the bullet after TRC, I'd be interested to see what his replacement elects to do with the fly-half position for EOTY if Cooper is unfit.

I still think our scrum is at its strongest when Robinson is on at LHP in the last couple of tests.

At the start of the test season I would agree that he wasn't ready and his scrummaging was well below his usual standard but I think that aspect of his game is really getting back up there.

I think the current three props and the way they are being played is working well.

Mitchell suffered another injury. He'd played plenty of rugby up until that point and presumably had been training strongly. I think he was unlucky more than anything.

With JOC (James O'Connor) injured and Cooper down on form, Deans has clearly looked to Beale as one of the few x factor players left standing. Without a bevvy of fullbacks bashing down the door for a spot I think it was a catch-22 of whether he was picked or not. In an ideal world I think you wouldn't have played him, but I don't think we have been flush with options.

With so many players out injured it is a difficult choice as to whether you go with a completely untried option or you go with a proven performer who is down a bit on form/fitness.

I think this is an assumption that you can dream about but you won't see.

Winning the two home tests against South Africa and Argentina has definitely bought Deans more time in my mind.

Probably.

Is it wrong for me to wish for terrible results in SA and Arg because in the long run I think that's exactly what we need?

I want us to get thumped in both tests.

Having watched the scrums very closely in the TRC I agree than Robinson is improving each game. Still a way to go but positive signs.

The problems are still on the other side of the scrum despite people talking up Alexander - I've seen none of the improvement claimed.

Coenie is on his way back. Will play th this weekend for the Cheetahs and probably will pack down against the Wallabies from the bench.

What it looks to me Scott is Benny A tires far to easy for a THP. He starts strong then falls away.

I was not a fan of Ben A until recently. I really think he has grown as a prop and player. THP is a cruel position and guys like Franks who contribute around the park as much as in the scrum are rare. He does go noticeably backwards in the scrum after 50min, but in the loose he goes well until about 70min.

I never thought I would say this, but as the complete THP, I think he is the best we have at the minute.
