The team that I would select:

1) Slipper
2) TPN
3) Alexander
4) Sharpe
5) Timani
6) Dennis
7) Hooper
8) Samo
9) Phipps
10) Barnes
11) Ioane
12) McCabe
13) AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14) Shipperley
15) Beale

16) Moore
17) Robinson
18) Douglas
19) Higgers
20) Gill
21) Sheehan
22) Taps

Deans I think will keep Robinson starting, and he'll have Harris on the bench in place of taps.

I think starting Robbo has been working well. Our scrum has been at its strongest when he is on.

He is also the least fit of the three props so starting him and then giving him a break and a short stint at the end look slike a good option.

Getting him back on at the end of the game when things may be in the balance and there could be some pivotal scrums is also valuable in my opinion.

The way they have been working it, Alexander plays the most minutes, Slipper gets around 50 minutes and Robbo gets about a half.

If the Bokke pick Goosen, and I think the nation is calling for it so it is likely to happen, the bokke backline will be a seriously different beast. They have some real weapons and with Goosen they might actually use them. The bloke nearly kicked a 60m penalty at sea level also. How far can he kick penalty goals at altitude?

The wallabies better be preparing to score 5 tries if they want to win this test. The bokke will score 20 odd points per half from penalties alone

There is just a grain of truth in this statement. Goosen may be a very good attacking 10, but the Boks love him because he kicks well, especially from place kicks. He gets about 90% success rate from anything up to 60 metres at sea level and you can add another 5 metres for altitude.

Can anyone explain why we are allowed to bring Robinson back on at the end. I realise that a prop can come back on to avoid uncontested scrums but I thought this would only be allowed in circumstances where the player going off (Alexander) had suffered an injury and was unable to play on? Is that the case or is the rule simply that Props can be subbed back on for tactical reasons?

They are meant to have an injury for a replaced prop (applies to hooker as well) to come back on but it really is impossible to enforce.

Cramp is an injury. Needing a meat pie is an injury.

When do the Wallabies fly out? Does anybody know if they're going to actually spend time at altitude to get used to the conditions this time?

Or are they just going to do the usual and swan around on the beach in Durban or Cape Town, fly up the day before and then wonder what hit them?

According to Link, visiting teams win three times as often by traveling on the day compared to a long acclimatisation.

Robinson does not need anymore meat pies.

He is not he prop with the pie related injury. That is Alexander when he comes off at the end. From the last couple of tests, Alexander deserves that pie!

Surely the distance travelled makes a difference.

If I was going from Sydney to Brisbane or Sydney to Auckland, I can see travelling on the day of the game being fine.

If I'm flying halfway round the world, I'd like a few days to recover.

Think Robbo starting has worked pretty well - still shithouse around the field and Slipper offers so much more when defence and mongrel is required. Alexander is merely holding the THP spot until Kepu is OK. Slipper and Alexander and Kepu can all play both sides (alexander arguably). Robbo supposedly refuses to play at the tight side ever. Think when Kepu and Palmer return from injury prop positions will be interesting.

Having said that when the bench allows for 2 props, Robbos playing furture may be extended. Then Robbo and Slip (80 minute player) for LHP and Kepu (80 minute player) and Palmer on THP side. Kepu and Slipper can play both sides but Palmer and robbo limited to one side only - would allow for interchange with lots of options.

Meanwhile, the wallabies have been affected by the JOC (James O'Connor) and Gits academy of hair styling.

Lol. I love the fact that the sentence says nothing but we all know exactly what you mean by it.

Where is Jesse Mogg at? I want to see him at 15. With a boot that size at altitude we might actually compete in the kicking contest. He could be our future Israel Dagg. Get him into the squad ASAP. Or play him on the wing and he can cover Barnes when he goes into the playmaker role from 15.

In the meantime Meyer released a few players for CC duty on the weekend and his squad have a bit of a break
SARugby
They are Craig Burden (The Sharks), Frans Malherbe (DHL Western Province), Jacques Potgieter (Vodacom Blue Bulls), Jano Vermaak (Vodacom Blue Bulls) and Lwazi Mvovo (The Sharks).
The sixth player that was not part of the match 22 in Dunedin, Pat Cilliers (MTN Golden Lions), is currently injured and not available for selection this weekend.
A Springbok squad of 30 players for the final two Tests in The Castle Rugby Championship – on September 29 against Australia at Loftus Versfeld and on October 6 against New Zealand at Soccer City – will be announced at the conclusion of round seven of the Absa Currie Cup Premier Division on Saturday evening.
The squad will convene in Johannesburg on Sunday evening to start preparations for the Tests against Australia and New Zealand.

Still dont understand why he dont give Goosen and Lambie some much needed gametime.
