Id suggest that the Canberra comp is a tier below the Sydney league and possibly the Brisbane leaue.
My point is where does he stop?
Im guessing that he has decided (rightly or wrongly) at attending the Shute Shield and Brisbane Comp? and not any of the other leagues around the country.

To answer the question... he would stop with the three premier rugby club competitions...

There's obviously a massive gap between these three and the other three you mentioned...

definitely v the Reds

He was brought on as a replacement against the Tahs... he started against the Reds...

But that was only after injuries to several other players like Mafi, who have since been culled from the Brumbies senior squad...

excellent, they have Quade tackling, looks like Palu but I assume it is Kepu!!!

Good to see Rod Davies there in his Reds gear, really stands out. Damn I love that jersey. In this case, the colour red definitely makes you go faster :p

And Quade actually has his head (somewhat) down.

Goodness, he might even drive with his legs!

Still got the same technique he's been using. He should be tackling with Barnes standing to his right advising.

Nice to see him putting Kepu down but if he continues that way he will get palmed off heaps. He must get lower and rely on his support players to come over the top.

Thus spaketh the armchair coach

The thing is guys, if they were practicing try-line defense (which they may have been judging on the photo) tackling low would just mean Kepu would just topple over the line.

Looking at the Beale/Genia drill you may be right. Kurtley was very keen to get the tackler on his back, which in field play would only get you a penalty against.

Not necessarily. One thing JOC (James O'Connor) does well is bootlace tackles head on; tackling by grabbing both ankles and driving right through. If you do it properly the player will drop and land almost on the spot.

It is unlikely that he is ever going to stop a player like Kepu on the tryline. I hope they are also practicing his defense about 5-10m out from the tryline, where he constantly gets bumped off.
