    NSW AAGPS 2023

Lost to Asian Dragons in the QF. A few dropped balls at the end saw the Aussies bottle a lead. Ironically, it seems that the Aussies actually had more Asian players than the Asian dragons.

Or… kids repeat to give themselves a better chance of succeeding academically whilst training at a high level… and is a decision made completely seperate from the school. Barker don’t just do this for rugby. They offer it to many high level athletes going through Barker (many of which in sports...

I hope ex Trinity boy Tane Edmed gets the nod by selectors soon. I personally think it is between him and Lolesio moving forward in the 10 jersey.

National U16 and U19 match discussion.

Don’t think his game translates to the next level. Is more successful due to his size, and will not translate to the fast game at the next level. Alcock is extremely skilled in general play, very strong scrummager, and about as mobile as you could ever want a hooker to be. He really got hard...

Thought Albert Alcock (hooker) from Waratahs was hard done by. Mobile hookers with good ball skills, who hit like a ton of bricks, and a threat around the breakdown. Exactly the type of player we need to develop. Also genuinely thought he was the best hooker in the comp when on the field. Think...

It was confirmed he signed there a month or so ago.

NSW looking very dominant in the 16’s. In the 19’s NSW are up at half time despite being down to 13 men at one stage.

Nawaqanitawase looks promising on the wing, work in progress though. Samu was good. Better as an impact player off the bench though. Tom “Rocks and Diamonds” Wright did as expected. …. That is about the only positives from this test.

West Harbour boy too. Bring back footy in Western Sydney.

Seems strange that we very rarely attack the breakdown yet still concede a ridiculous amount of penalties...

It's becoming increasingly evident that we need players who can slow the ball down, and be a threat to pilfer around the ball. Hooper is not that anymore. Our props, with the exception of Tupou, can't pilfer. I'm not sure if it's a Rennie game plan, to leave the pilfer and focus on setting up...

He is in the AFL and League system too. So he of anyone needs to be locked in quickly.

Interestingly enough, Annan isn't the only NSW boy in that u19's QLD side. Harrison Usher (Prop, The King's School) and Tyrone Albertyn (Hooker, Barker College) are also NSW boys.

Don't think that will happen, mate. Just an awful time of year for Australian school footy, unfortunately.

Highlights for those without Stan Sport. A few to watch in the future IMO. Zion Poita out of Waverley (2nd rower/6/8) I believe is a real powerhouse, would benefit him to learn to better control his temperament, however. Loses track of the game sometimes out of frustration. The 12 Joe Walsh...
