A little birdy would also tell you that boy is underage... so I don't see how it could possibly be seen as unethical. And boys have done this at Barker, and other schools in the past. Not only for rugby but for other sports too... both from the GPS and CAS... And it is accepted by both of these...

Yes. Very true. Moalo (who started at prop for the Tahs today) is actually a Victorian boy who moved to Sydney for his rugby development.

National U16 and U19 match discussion.

Here's a very hot take... and I can't believe I am saying this as a former critic myself... But Tom Morrison? Could he be this age group's best fly-half? Always thought it was Bowen, but Mason looked to be slightly better than him today... But not as good as Tom Morrison. This Tah's team was...

From the Aloys website: "St Aloysius' College does not offer scholarships. While we educate and nurture a number of academically and physically gifted young men, we have not attracted them via a scholarship or reduced fees."' So I guess so.

Look mate. I don't completely disagree with your opinion that it may end up being a negative for Barker as a school, in the sense that, I personally think it will be positive, but can't know for certain and can understand your logic. It may end up being detrimental. Only time will tell. I am...

Very few suffer... the majority benefit. The "Barker community" love the fact that Barker has a successful 1stXV now.

    CAS Rugby 2023

Yep... that is the purpose of scholarships... not cheating and not the only school to do it. Which players get free tuition at Barker? Because it's far fewer than people like you are making it out to be. Some of these "scholarships" merely got free boarding... Some half tuition and some only...

    Scholarships aren't cheating... not comparable...

People are complaining about these scholarships... yet don't know a thing about them. The only thing you have against Barker doing it is your school doesn't do it as successfully.

    Qld GPS Rugby 2022

I would say it has more to do with the fact that waratahs are killing every age group atm.

You mean like the 8 rep homegrown representative players they developed? One of which being an Aus Schoolboy and 7 being in the Gen Blue program.

Kennedy/Livinsgtone at 6 (2022) Narcessian at 12 Sagala at 13 Poynton at 15, fullback has been a position of weakness in both these teams, Poynton will be a star though just young. Vass obviously developed into an Aus Schools player but wasn't until 2020.

Ones I can confirm there have been at least discussions (some potentially done deals): Isaiya Katoa: Dolphins Oniti Finau: Waratahs Bryn Edwards: Waratahs Lachlan Hooper: Waratahs/Brumbies Doug Phillipson: Force Also have heard a few more that I can't confirm.

    CAS Rugby 2023

I believe 2018 had 14 CAS selections (everyone except no. 7. Weymouth) and 2022 had 13 (if we include Isaiya) being, Saihyoun, Edwards, Finau, Van Wyk, Ekenyake, Livingstone, Hooper, Phillipson, Katoa, Kennedy, Sagala, Read and Poynton. I think you can definitely make an argument for both...

    CAS Rugby 2023

I think you need to include 2020 Waverley. Lot's of boys moving on to bigger and better things. I think this year's Barker team (2022) would take the cake though, with 5 boys in discussions to sign professional contracts, or have already signed contracts already (Katoa, Edwards, Phillipson...

Knox have a good thing going at the moment. Lots of talent coming through.

Barker would be silly to go. Wouldn't be taking their year 12's leaving a shell of the team they were last year at best. Participating would only be detrimental to Barker's image. December really weird time for such a competition.
