Don't know where he played his club footy, but I know he played his rep rugby for Central West and played 1stXV for Stannies in year 10 I believe (2020). He moved to Barker in year 11, and played 1stXV both years at halfback. Played NSW and was selected for Aus Schoolboys. He's a good kid...

While I don't necessarily agree with everything you've said WLF3, I respect your opinion. I'm glad someone can critique this situation logically and in a mature manner.

Yes exactly what I was about to say. Poynton's brother graduated in 2019 and played 2ndXV. I have spoken to his parents about the school before and they love it, I'm sure his parents always planned on sending him considering his brother was already there.

Knox have as many scholarships as Barker this year. I hope you keep the same attitude champ. What a disgrace.

Don't be daft... Pollard, Katoa, Finau, Liam Jones etc were at public schools... And let's not act like all private schools are equal. There are very few schools in the state on par with Barker... There's a reason parents accept the scholarship... if Lachlan Hooper's parents for example thought...

Are you insinuating the ARU does a good job of retaining schoolboy talent? Or that you believe that St Leo's Billy Pollard, who is from a through and through rugby league family, and who I know for a fact said before he came to Barker wanted to play in the NRL... would he have magically picked...

When you're personally chased by Wayne Bennett and offered 300k as an 18 year old schoolboy... You take it. ARU should have done more. Kid openly admitted to his friends at school that he preferred union but he picked league because the pathways were better... Pathways need to be fixed. Kids...

Had he not been picked up by Barker, he would have gone to the dark side... all the league clubs wanted him. But now he is a brumbie. Another reason many benefit from what Barker is doing.

Yes. IMO 3 of the 5 best players in the gen blue program last year were ISA boys. And none of the 5 best IMO were GPS boys (which is a nice change). Poitaha (Waverley) and Berryman (Endeavour Sports I believe?) were the non ISA boys I noticed. And Conti (Pats), Woods (Pats) and Walsh (Auggies)...

If you think that is bad, you should see how they got to Billy Pollard. He was actually created in a test tube in the Barker science class rooms, and they genetically engineered him using the DNA of an Ox and a Cheetah. On a serious note, we really don't need to do the whining about Barker...

I've already revealed the truth mate. 23 and a half Pacific Islander children flown here against their will AND Ma'a Nonu, believe even potentially Dan Carter was thrown in there? Those cheats! Arrgghhh

Isaiya Katoa today alluded to the fact that he would like to come back to union... But also talked about how growing up all he wanted to be was an All-Black... Could be another lost player even if he came back to union... rough

I actually heard that they have 23 and a half players they imported from Tonga, Fiji and Samoa from their families against their will, who they have been holding hostage in the gym, pumping them with PED's whilst they sleep, and training them 7 days a week to earn their food and water. Even...

I don't think Trinity losing to St Pats was unexpected. West Harbour has been killing it in this age group, Conti is the best game manager in the state, and Woods is a freak. They also additionally have a few league boys who are very talented. Trinity were always expected to struggle this year...

Thank you WLF3, knowledgable as always. It's a real shame, that pool of trials seems to be quite weak, with Gregs/Pius being a waste of time IMO, and Riverview not being up to their usual standard most would agree. If the GPS is going to permanently move to a 10 round comp, and obviously we...

Assuming they are playing games in NZ, Knox will be well and truly hardened for the season. Will be well and truly beneficial.

There's plenty of Knox and Waverley supporters on the forum, surely somebody knows how they went in their first trial?

    ISA 2023

Barker is a massive step down from their 2022 team. 13 NSW representatives. 5 Aussie Schoolboy level players. I think you will find that Oakhill has just taken a step back this year, or at the very least the team they fielded this weekend was a step down from last years team.

According to Rod, Barker 42 - Oakhill 7.

Rod sounds like you know more than me. Any word on how the boys played? Any standouts?
