Super Rugby AU Round 5 Brumbies v Reds Saturday 7.15 GIO Stadium

Imagine my shock that the reserve kid in his second ever start at flyhalf couldn't orchestrate a sparkling attack. The Reds' defence was one of the features of this match, and it's a credit to them that the Brumbies resorted to the maul three times. Hardly a clash for the ages. Dreadfully...

    Wallabies 2020

With Lolesio injured, I don't think Harrison can be left out. The only other contender is To'omua, and he's a stopgap at best, so somebody young and promising needs to be on the bench.

    Wallabies 2020

I'm quietly shocked to see anyone suggesting O'Connor for higher honours this season. All I can recall since lockdown is him fluffing his lines, ballsing up regulation clearance kicks and throwing intercept passes. He's dreadful. I'd pick Godwin, Simone, or almost anyone else ahead of him.

    Brumbies 2020

Any update yet on Lolesio's injury? If he's out, Kuenzle did well enough to start in his absence, but I'm desperately hoping they give Hanson plenty of time at 10 off the bench. He's definitely the most gifted ball runner of the lot, and plenty of experience playing 10 at club level.

Magnificent set piece try to finish the season.

To be fair to the lad, I remember him playing quite well for the Rebels, and indeed for the Wallabies. Can't seem to take a trick this year though.

I for one blame the sidelines.

Yeah nah I think he's doing a good job.

    Brumbies v Waratahs, Rnd 7 2020 GIO Stadium Sunday 15 Mar 16:05

Probably, yeah. The ref is clearly favouring the attacking side.

Not sure how anybody could complain about the yellow card. That's as regulation as they come.

He has been ceaselessly dreadful today.

Powell's box kicks are really not up to much. Passing less than razor-sharp too.

Joe Powell hit in the arse by a rainbow there. Beale just about to bring him down and blows a hammy. Powell strolls in for a try.

Blatant shoulder charge on Kata by Swinton there. Seems to have been missed.

    Brumbies v Waratahs, Rnd 7 2020 GIO Stadium Sunday 15 Mar 16:05

Joe Powell making a stupid "wooo" noise when the Waratahs cough up the ball. Rasta: "You're the captain, you're better than that." More of the above please.

I tend not to remember the refereeing tendencies of each official, so I can't say whether it's his personal style or a product of the occasion (probably a dead rubber and the last game for ages), but he seems to be heavily favouring the attacking side in all facets of the game. So far it's...

Pretty sure Martin just pronounced Ala'alatoa with one too many 'ala's. Thought he was never going to finish.

Ala'alatoa looks to have broken his arm.
