    Reds 2018

BH and others, Bottom line is - these guys are untested at opens division rugby and they have been signed. Dominance at U20s level does not translate to success in opens rugby.

    Reds 2018

I'd hate to be a Premier Grade lock who has slogged it out for years in men's rugby and to be overlooked by 2 teenagers who haven't even played Premier Grade in their lives. How can we possibly be signing these 2 young locks without having even seen them tested at opens rugby level? No doubt...

I was under the impression that Fin Hume was a 10/15?

    Reds 2018

TOCC mentioned on page 6 that Douglas will now be the experienced lock to mentor the young second rowers. Why stick with Douglas over Simmons? Douglas has hardly appeared for the Reds in 2017. Simmons is far more experienced than Douglas in both international and domestic rugby - let alone a...

    Reds 2017

Disappointing to see Rob Simmons being moved on at the end of the year. Yes, he hasn't had the best season, but he's been a great servant to both Qld and Australian rugby over a long period of time. IMO, a Reds player who has 112 caps to his name doesn't deserve to go out on such terms. A leader...

Emile Tuimavave had a strong 2016 for BGS and I have been informed that he had a good outing on the weekend. Made GPS 3 last year at loosehead so you'd expect the selectors to consider him for either GPS 1 or 2 in 2017.

    The Wallabies Thread

Ideally, Hunt plays at 15. But if Cheika is so stubborn about playing Izzy at #15, and Beale happens to be unavailable, then I'd like to see him at 12. I think he could adapt to the #12 role quite easily. He defends in the front line for the Reds 80% of the time and is often sliding into that...

    The Wallabies Thread

I think if Beale is unavailable for the June tests we should be looking to K Hunt to fill the #12 role. Could work really well considering his physicality in both attack in defence as well as his ability to be a playmaker. Coupled with the fact that Kerevi will most likely be at #13 - those 2...

    The Wallabies Thread

Must keep giving Lopeti Timani opportunities in Gold. He has serious potential and is a player for the future. Is Quade even fit enough to be playing Wallabies? Just appears to be a week to week prospect for the Reds. No doubt that K Hunt must play fullback. Yields a better kicking game than...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Liam Wright is a great player, but doesn't cut it as a 7. Has always been more of a 6. As mentioned above, we need a breakdown specialist. Fraser McReight or Connor Moroney from QLD have that turnover ability.

    Reds 2017

I would like to see Houston in the #6 jersey this weekend. From what I saw of the Wests v GPS game, he was quite good. Adam Korczyk has a lot of potential, but Leroy provides that advantage line gain through his ball running. Just wondering how much pressure this would put on the line out? Does...

    Reds 2017

With all due respect to Hamish, has he been the 3rd in line flyhalf option for the Reds this season? Has he been training with the main squad? Who were the City/Country flyhalves/playmakers last year other than Duncan, J Mac and Greene? Also, where is Magnay these days?

    Reds 2017

Sorry for the double post, but I think it should also be seen here. Hamish Stewarts selection is interesting. I've been impressed with his form over the course of the U20s season so far. I think he has a very bright future. But is he really the best option for the bench flyhalf position? Do the...

    Round 6: Reds v. Hurricanes, April 1st

Hamish Stewarts selection is interesting. I've been impressed with his form over the course of the U20s season so far. I think he has a very bright future. But is he really the best option for the bench flyhalf position? Do the Reds coaching staff honestly believe that he is better than every...

    Reds 2017

I think the starting XV is mostly settled for 2017 - but I strongly agree that Higginbotham, Tui, Tupou and Perese will be in the lineup. Talakai, although a more experienced player, doesn't bring the raw running game and power that Thor does. We've constantly been saying "give Thor time...maybe...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

Wouldn't quite call McReight's injury the "Grammar Captain curse". From what I saw, he should be back soon if not next week. Some very interesting decisions from the coaches today: Masselos and Arthur played in 2nd XV and Arthur went to Inside Centre during the 2nd half of the First XV. No...
