First grade rugby in Sydney must be pretty rubbish if McCormack is playing No. 8. He is a superb hooker, and deserved higher honours imo, but he aint no 8.

IRB approved shin guards for rugby

I've played with a lot of hookers who have worn shin guards. Not sure why anyone else would need them except maybe the props.

Aussies an outside chance at best.

Hougard's not world class but he had a very good forward pack giving him acres of space. Same with Beale and Burgess last year. Give me a world class forward back and average halves and I'll beat your team of average forwards and world class halves.

Difficult to know what Hickey will be thinking after that. It is odd to play the Warriors rather than a stronger S14 team (good for Fiji though). We know that against weaker opponents Tahu has good footwork, is strong and can offload in traffic. We are yet to see him do it against the big boys...

Aussies an outside chance at best.

Steve Devine was the Blues 9 in '03 and he played for the ABs that year. The Waratahs made the S14 final last year with a 19 year old 10 and a 9 who had played only a handful of S14 games before the start of the season. The Brumbies can do it, but will need Holmes and Lealifano (or Toumoa) to...

Noddy that is superb news and I can only imagine how stoked your little fella must have been.

Gambling destroys lives too. Should that be made illegal? It will never happen because its a vital source of revenue for overweight governments, but its worth a thought. The Whitlams' song "Blow Up the Pokies" is pertinent. I'm against drugs, but I'm more against nanny states. The way to beat...

Congratulations. What's NTS? Lives ruined: Heroin - 2 Ecstacy - 0 Alcohol - 2 Marijuana - 1 I must hang out in the wrong circles. I hate talking to people who are on persians.

The best way to become good at pull ups is to do lots of pull ups. I reckon 4 is a superb effort. You could probably get to 10 in a couple of weeks Scarfie. I consider myself relatively fit but my power to weight ratio in the arms is pretty rubbish. I dont think I could manage 4.

Addictive substances like this (and alcohol and cigarettes) all impose a cost on society whether through anti-social behaviour, health care, security because of changed behaviour or policing. Humans are very weak creatures as a whole to "need" these things in the way that we do. I'm not a...

Oz Tight 5 (and a few backrowers) stats

Thanks for putting these up Nod as its interesting to look at these figures. As others have said though, size in the programs etc is what the players put down when they complete the form. When the players complete the form, they can be creative. Al Baxter is fairly tall, but he wouldnt be 190...

I reckon you have hit the nail on the head here Lee. He wants to get the best out of Lealifano and this is code for lift your game.

Like Latho? If Faingia is a success, it wont take long before you Queensland boys will be calling him one of your own.

They loved him at London Irish and would have him back in a heartbeat.

Will Beale make the Wallabies 22 this year?

If it was a Bledisloe, atm I wouldnt want Cooper or Beale on the pitch. So, in my mind, they arent really fighting for a spot, they are fighting to be ranked 3, 4 and 5 (if you include the others). This season may change that perception, but that is my view at the moment.

Will Beale make the Wallabies 22 this year?

We only know his form from previous years, that he is fatter than he was and that he will probably improve. We cant be sure he will improve and its possible he could even go backwards, particularly if his application to the task is reflected by his off season. So, my answer would be no and not...

    Back at training.....

Toys...pram? Stick at it mate. Get fitter, get stronger and make it impossible for them not to pick you.

    Australia's 5th team

Grintell is still yet to get a game. I doubt this will be much of a pathway, particularly for forwards. I would cut your list of 28 back to about 10.

Its only 2mins, but he would have been blowing when he finished it. Its a 2 min sprint which is like the 400m so he would need decent fitness to win it.

    John Mitchell

I see someone mentioned that Giteau, Drew Mitchell, JOC (James O'Connor) and Shepherd might all leave. Fun boys one and all. Giteau may be the best player at the Force, but he isnt the most senior player. Those older, more experienced, more senior blokes (probably only Sharpe and Staniforth) should be telling...
