Have you ever lost "respect" for your favourite players?

If a rugby player tweets and no one reads it, does it make any sound? Twitter - base word twit. Stop reading the rubbish and they will stop writing it.

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

Pure genius. We've been lucky to see the likes of Michael Jones, Smith and McCaw in the same lifetime. Each of them have evolved the role of a 7. I'm not prepared to choose one over any of the others and I don't think anyone who says it's a clearcut decision is being objective.

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

Australian rugby had two other contact football codes to assist it's professional approach. As a result we had a huge headstart. It took the ABs a while to adjust and the Boks even longer. Now that the Boks have adjusted we are behind the curve because of their depth. The number of South...

Front Row Development - about time

Hartman - a very good post. I played with a couple of American Eagles who could eat all the Aussie guys for breakfast when it came to gym work, explosive power and speed but who were average rugby players.

    Pissing behind a tree

Once they're paid to do what they do, including by sponsors who want their reputation enhanced by the affiliation, they're no longer subject to the same rules as the rest of us.

    Reds 2011

After being touted by many as a Wallaby option for this season, Rugby Reg (I preferred you when you were Noddy) leaves Van out of the match day 22 and there is nary a protest. Strange days indeed.

Mark Ella calls it like it is

He makes a lot of sense here too: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/sport/winning-really-is-everything/story-e6frg7mf-1225884493615

    Waratahs 2011

Staniforth would have filled the same role and, arguably, is better in each position. I don't understand why he hasn't been given more opportunities in the centres. Cross is not dynamic enough.

Poll : Should the Wallabies revert to the old guard in the front row?

I said no. The scrum is about more than the props. The other 6 have to take a large part of the responsibility. I think we will see an improved performance this weekend. If Alexander/Robinson aren't fit come Trinations time, I'd bring Baxter back but not Dunning.

Any update Chief? Thanks for those you've posted so far.

    Robbie Deans Report Card

Bingo. Its all a bit tiresome. Apart from Baxter and, possibly, Fairbrother, the cupboard is bare given our injuries.

Wallabies player of the match VS England (1)

I think we get the message.

    SBW signs with the NZRU

I think he wants to play 12 and play for the Crusaders because he would be running off DC. I'd do the same in his shoes.

    Top14 - 2010/11

I miss him already. Pocock, as good as he is, is no Smith. We don't know how lucky we have been.

    Munster v. Australia

Which isn't always a prerequisite for you... Glad the tour games are back. This type of rugby is just what the likes of Kane Douglas, Rob Simmons, Saia Fainga'a etc need. Very good to see.

rumbles of the sale of TG Milner

Growden's sources aren't always unique. Maybe he got the rumour from here.

    What position did/do you play?

Started at 12 (with the odd game at fullback) and moved to the backrow when I was about 16. Played no.8 almost exclusively ever since.

    Club Players with potential

I'm pretty sure Solofuti has played for Samoa or Tonga.

    Semi 2: Stormers vs Tahs

Agree completely. He stops Burgess from using quick tap ball, takes kicks for touch himself, directs the forwards to play it tight... The sooner he goes the better for Oz rugby. If only he'd retired gracefully instead of G. Smith. But then, Smith has always had it over him so its not surprising...

G&GR Brumbies Player of the Match (v Highlanders)

Currently, at least Sharpe, Hodgson, TPN, Alexander, Braid and V Humphries have performed better this S14.
