The best XV of players from any school

Narrabri High School 15. Chris Latham 8. Michael Brial 6. Scott Gourley There may be others. Impressive for a small country town.

Retired Players you miss the most

Blades, Harry, McKenzie, Daly, Topo, McIntyre, Eales, Giffin, McCall, Cutler, Williams, Willie O, Gourley, Kefu, Gavin, Tuynman, Larkham, Horan... A couple of good props, one more good lock, a good blindside (yes, I'm saying Rocky isn't great), a good backup to Palu, a 10 who can tackle and a...

    Name the game

Agree with all of those games. Fiji v Sth Africa and Wales in 2007 were both good too. Wales v England and Wales v the ABs in 2003 also good games. I love rugby played well.

    Name the game

I think your Dad might be confused: "Jesus Christ he's so fine, he plays nine for Palestine. Has anybody seen JC, JC, JC, Riding on a donkey, its Palm Sunday...etc"

    Rank our props

The lack of mobility is more noticeable when they get isolated in defence (eg Moore v Nonu) or when the opposition props are at the ruck pilfering our ball (Gethin Jenkins) and our props are still in back play from the previous scrum.

    Hooray! A No-Bullshit, Non-PC , Wallaby Statement!

You blokes have to be joking. Think Wallaby hard men in the modern game: Kefu, Nathan Grey, Jim Williams - they let their game do the talking. Now think other rugby hard men - Bakkies Botha, Brad Thorn, Carly Hayman... not too many media trash talkers there. Quade is getting caught up in his own...

Wales vs Australia, EOYT 2010, Millenium Stadium

The only way to stop it is to take a dominant scrum to the northern hemisphere for 20 years in a row. Having the Argies in the Tri-Nations will definitely help.

Wallabies v Wales G&GR player of the year

Beale Pocock Mitchell Apologies to Sharpe but I thought Mitchell was good. Elsom and McCalman need to improve their body height. Chisolm and Gits won't be selected next week. They can't be.

Wales vs Australia, EOYT 2010, Millenium Stadium

Scrum a real worry but the Wallabies looked a touch lethargic and, I think, the ABs seemed to as well. Maybe last weekend and the flight from Honkers took more out of both teams than we thought.

    Quade Cooper and Summer Digressions

But our last great fly half didn't run away immediately afterwards. He stuck around for the consequences. I don't mind our players putting it to the ABs, showing mongrel etc. What I don't like is having a crack at someone already on the ground when their back is turned, after you've scored the...

    Quade Cooper and Summer Digressions

Are you deliberately misinterpreting my post? Everyone has scuffles. To do what Cooper did is bad sportsmanship.

    Quade Cooper and Summer Digressions

I wouldn't drop Cooper. Opening up good defence is about moving the defenders out of position and confusing them. Cooper does one or both each time he gets the ball. The gap for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)'s try was there because they moved up quickly to cut down Coopers space and also because they were too close...

Wallabies best 3-2-1 vs All Blacks in Hong Kong

    3. Beale 2. Pocock 1. Alexander Special mention to Sharpe and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). The scrum woes weren't Alexander's fault. I didn't think Rocky played all that well. Kaino and Read outplayed Rocky and McCalman. Slipper did very well when he came on together with Barnes and Burgess.

    Bledisloe IV 2010 Hong Kong

Players like Ben Alexander? The amount of time off is irrelevant. Its the perceived value of that player to the team in light of other players competing for the same position. Ioane, TPN, Horwill and Palu would be talked about (and possibly selected) if they were available notwithstanding their...

Physical imposition rugby – the Sydney University system

Naza also has a point. Uni, for as long as I can remember, have played a game plan where they have 7 athletes (two locks, often halflings, three backrowers and two centres) as crashballers. Its easy to read in defence, but you have to keep making your tackles. Uni always have a good set piece...

Nathan Grey - Skills Coach at the Rebs

Grey thinks more about the game than 98% of this board combined. I think its a canny appointment. I doubt the Rebels will be lacking in the skills department and Grey is a straight talker so they won't doubt where they stand either. The quality of input in this thread is well below standard.

    The Wallabies use of 13

Has anyone noticed that this season our 13, whether Horne or AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), has been quiet. I'm not sure whether that is because our game plan doesn't use the 13 much of that neither AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) or Horne has really imposed themselves on a game this year. It could also be said that our 8 has been quiet but I...

Which clubs are the Class of 2010 going to?

Bruce things must have changed if Uni no longer approach players who perform well at carnivals at or above a certain level. I know it happened in the mid nineties (first hand experience) and Uni have gone from strength to strength since then.

    Quade Cooper going to NRL?

Today's article might reignite this thread http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/nrl/quade-cooper-in-secret-talks-with-parramatta-eels/story-e6frfgbo-1225904646096. I think its typical contract negotiation. Cooper clearly hasn't grown up that much to be pulling this sort of shizzle. If he want's...
