Tom Carter - love him, loath him or something in between?

Chase and tackle. Carter is very good at that.

Tom Carter - love him, loath him or something in between?

Disagree. Charlie was the talent. Tom is a solid squad player but not suited for expansive rugby. He would have done very well under John Connolly when Qld played 10 man rugby.

Self deprecation is a wonderfully redeeming feature of high horse sitters.

    mungos win schoolboy sevens.

John O'Neill must be very happy about this. League's juniors playing rugby is a win for us particularly with the Olympics angle and a new super team on the way. I don't care that they have won. If anything, it might help to convince them to choose rugby rather than league.

Bruce I'm sorry to hear you no longer feel comfortable posting here. I value your contributions. In terms of Uni, I'm railing against the hoarding of talent. I have read what you've said about scholarships etc and I do t doubt you. However I know that when I finished school, Uni did recruit...

    More pressing concerns...

Is that right Topo? Berrick Barnes played colts for Uni did he? And Peter Playford? Are there others? But we both know that's not the point. Uni recruit at colts level because it doesn't have a juniors system. Those guys have come from all over the place and Uni picks the best regardless of...

Has anyone seen Bruce? If you see him, can you pass on a few questions for me. Bruce: What do you think about all of this? Do you agree that it seems silly for Barnes, Halangalu and Carter to be competing for the same two spots in the Uni backline? Similarly with Tim Davidson, David Dennis...

    Lote

Your posts suggest you have a private school chip on your shoulder. Times have changed. Plenty of the current Wallaby squad are from outside the private school system - think George Smith, Cliffy Palu, Rob Horne, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), TPN, David Dennis, Pek Cowan, Ryan Cross et al. League is embedded in public...

    Lote

There are more defenders in rugby and Lote never learnt the wingers no. 1 rule: use the sideline. All good wingers (Clerc, Shane Williams, Sivi, Habana, Rococoko, the one and only Rupeni, Heymans) use the sideline. Lote seemed afraid of it and cut back in too often. His runs were often back into...

Cyclo and Spook - how about taking the handbags to the PM arena?

    Force v Bulls. Perthfontein.

Great defence from Cross. I won't be disappointed if he doesn't play for the Wobs again.

I like the changes. Happy with Dennis at 6. Eddie Jones' greatest skills are, oddly enough for a former hooker, running lines and moves for the backs. Coincidentally, that is just what the tahs are struggling with.

    Wallaby 6,7,8

In terms of being inconsistent with the rest of my post, I said there are rare players who can switch. Hodgson is one albeit if we had a half decent 8 somewhere I wouldn't dream of playing him there. Hodgson has played a lot of 8 at club and S14 level. He might be light and not your typical 8...

    Waratahs 2011

This might point to Palu's departure. I hope not.
