    Reds 2011

The Reds are looking very good next year depth-wise. The only two problem areas that stand out are hooker (the loss of Hardman will be huge - hope Saia can back up this years form) and openside. Unfortunately they are two crucial positions in the pack. I'm guessing Lucas will be Quade's backup...

Teams for the rest of the EOYT

If it is a dry run for next year's world cup then it is best the players get used to backing up for three hard tests in a row. However, I would like to see Sharpe rested as at his age injuries can occur easily. He is crucial to our chances of bringing Bill home next year. It would be good to see...

The Great Umaga for an Aussie S15 spot

Wasn't Umaga mid-30s when he retired from test rugby in 2005? He is not exactly a young bloke and I doubt he would be up to the rigours of Super rugby after so many years in France. He would be good off the field to teach the blokes about professionalism and bar etiquette but not at his age on...

    Tickets to Shute Shield Final

I was surprised by the low turnout, rain notwithstanding. Was everyone home watching the gayfl grand final replay or didn't they know it was on? I have been to a couple of gf's at Concorde, 2 in the mid-90s and one in 2000 and they were all sold out games, 2 of them absolute crackers (the 2000...

    Uni vs Wicks

Did anyone else think the Mafi try should not have been allowed? He was stopped short of the line and then lifted his body to place the ball over the line. I know you are allowed to "place" the ball in any direction but moving your body?

MacQueen turned the Wallabies around in one pre-season

I don't want to see Barnes in the 12 jumper for the Wallabies or 'tahs period. He has always played his best rugby at 10 and should not be moved from there.

The Wallabies - sprinters not stayers

... bump. Maybe one of the mods could merge part of the Macqueen's Wallabies thread with this one? That one seems to be going off topic along the lines of this thread.

World XV (Or Earth's XV, Terran XV, whatever you like)

If you wait until AFTER the Spring Tour we will have the polls up for all of GAGR to vote on who is the best player in each position. We do this every year.

    Uni vs Wicks

Is this Drew Mitchell's first game for Randwick? Wasn't Gitteau linked to them as well? If so why isn't he playing?

    Sports' greatest chokers

They weren't the best side in 2003 though, the English were. Beat both the Oz and NZ sides at home, at one stage against the AB's they were down to 13 men. Don't like these choker threads / lists as it demeans some excellent come-from-behind wins France v ABs 1999 being a good example.

    Position Vacant:

I don't want any mungoes anywhere near the Wallabies unless it is either Kiss or Muggleton working on the defence. The Wallabies need someone who can coach some structure back into their attacking play - Mooney, Gaffney (my personal preference), Campese, Glen or Gary Ella, David Knox, Pat Howard.

    John Eales Medal

In all fairness though most of the bagging he copped was for playing out in the centres and not doing the job of a lock forward. This year he has played like a lock and been lauded for it. Gitteau to get the JEM and Beale to get the rookie.

MOTM 3-2-1 Wallabies vs All Blacks, Sydney

Hong Kong Bledisloe test in doubt?

Millenium Stadium with the roof closed so that NH weather doesn't spoil the spectacle.

    P de Villiers

The 'boks struggled in 2006 as well from memory and there were many calling from within South Africa to sack him in favour of Meyer. They didn't and the rest they say is history....

    Ideas for Australian Rugby Union

Some advertising for kids to actually play rugby might help. A lot of you here are probably too young / weren't born in the early '90s when they had the "hit and run" rugby ads featuring Tim Horan. I think at the time (coupled with Wallaby success) their was a rise in player numbers - don't...

    Quade Cooper going to NRL?

I blame Eddie Jones. In 2007 when coach of the Reds he invited Matty Johns to training who got in Quade's ear about how great he would be in league. The QRu were lucky not to lose him then and now. Hopefully they will be lucky again in 3 years time.

JON to be offered new deal to stay on as CEO

As long as they don't bring in another Gary Flowers type who when in charge appeared to waste the war chest left after the success of the world cup. As an aside it has been good to have a bit of stability at board / management level over the last 3 seasons, pity it hasn't translated to onfield...

    Wallaby Injuries

He plays both but is a bit of a potplant around the field. Hopefully Laurie Weekes is forgiven and goes on tour. If they do take a development prop hopefully it will be Dane Tilse as he impressed me when he played S14 this year and has done a good job playing for uni as well.

    The Holy Grail

You sure no one edited that vid so it looked like AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) passed? You know cut his head off and pasted it onto someone elses body?
