    Sydney Subbies 2019

No I took it down because I thought it may have been more trouble that it was worth. I do 100% standby what I say and should add that there are so many clubs out there doing great work that aren't Mosman, Colleagues and Petersham. Clubs that spring to mind are Epping and Hills that turn out 4...

    Sydney Subbies 2019

Not St Pats, same coaching team as last year, strong player retention from 2018 and good numbers thus far at pre season with no hint of dissatisfaction with the club management who's been there for years. Doubt West Harbour would be in a position to let colts play grade anywhere. They...

I saw that Saiyasi Ikanidrodro was named in Gordon's mens 7s team on the weekend just gone by. He was the winger nominated for the Div 2 medal. Either way, St Clair or Gordon, I don't think he will be playing at Lapstone this year. I'm sure Blueys would have some replacements ready to go, there...

    Sydney Subbies 2019

Correct and St Pats have obviously decided a 4th grade premiership is preferable to a mid table 3s finish.

    Sydney Subbies 2019

Same with St Pats, their 4s came minor premiers and comfortably took out the title with some overqualified 4th grade players whilst 3rd grade ran dead last and 2nd last in 2s. That's been the case at St Pats with 4th grade and 3rd grade for quite some time. It's just a reality of subbies rugby.

I tend to think that Blueys will do OK in 2019. I don't think they'll be able to compete club wide with heavyweights like Mosman, Petersham or Colleagues for instance but do feel they will be in Div 1 in 2020. Does anyone have any news on whether Waverley or Balmain have any prospect of running...

    Sydney Subbies 2019

Does anyone have any word on promotions/relegations. I'm presuming Blue Mountains and Hunters Hill will be a straight swap. I see Barker Old Boy's advertising coaching positions for 3 grades and a colts, which would suggest they either have a 4th grade coach or they aren't moving into Div 2. I...

Congratulations to Petersham on back to back Kentwell's, a fine achievement no matter how you look at it. Coach Nicholls seems to be able to win them for fun after coaching the past 2 years at Petersham and coaching one of the best Kentwell sides I've ever seen in St Pats 2014. Drummoyne have...

    Sydney Subbies 2018

I don't know the circumstances of the citing but seems a bit ordinary to me. It was a good game, convincingly won by the better team. St Pats aren't the most popular bunch going at the best of times and I can't imagine Blue Mountains would be a fan any longer, if they ever were.

Yes it was, the poor West Harbour players looked to be sick of pouring beers during the colts game. Nothing wring with a few tins to make life easier. They must get it dirt cheap otherwise can't see any upside.

Despite the awful beer selection at Concord Oval it was a great day of rugby. As many predicted in 1st grade Blue Mountains were too good for a flat looking St Pats team. The Blueys captain and 10 put on a clinic as he got the boys over the line for a deserved premiership. Blueys seemed to be...

    Sydney Subbies 2018

It's a very interesting conversation. St Pats last year were hopeless in div 1 now have three teams playing GFs this Saturday. I know the playing group is effectively same, if anything they lost some of their stronger players. Hunters Hill off the top of my head had two teams in the GF last year...

    Sydney Subbies 2018

Big weekend ahead with Blueys and St Pats contesting 3 GFs, Forest 2, Lindfield and UNSW with 1 a piece. It will be a particularly long day for St Pats playing 4s and 1s with colts wedged in the middle, however they would be happy with how close they are to home at Concord Oval. Blueys have a...

It is a rule somewhat, but if you get clearance from your Shute Shield club and subbies it is fine. It's a strange rule because I can't see why Subbies would stand in the way of a good player who is keen to play for a subbies club. Players change their mind all the time, maybe the training was...

If registered with Blueys before 30 June no problems at all.

    Sydney Subbies 2018

Was a great day of rugby at David Phillips on Saturday with St Pats and Blue Mountains sharing the first spots in the grand finals. It's always a day of high drama and intensity with 7 clubs converging on the one ground with seasons on the line, but as Bopper touched on amongst all the carry on...

    Sydney Subbies 2018

A true mix bag of results today in div 2 right across the grades. Congratulations to Epping on locking up 4th place with a big win over Hills, I was not expecting a scoreline that big with a finals spot on the line. I'd say Hills would be very disappointed with how this season has ended for them...

    Sydney Subbies 2018

Forgive me if I have missed something over the past few months but is the Penrith subbies team a genuine prospect or is it speculative? I haven't looked at the Shute Shield forum or anything like that. It certainly would be a interesting prospect and as far as what division they'd be in I...

Epping also in the mix if they can secure a bonus point win v 7th place Hills and UNSW and Blue Mountains lose to their higher ranked opponents. At this stage I'd say all three teams are equally likely/unlikely (depending how you want to look at it) of securing the final top 4 spot. A bonus...

    Sydney Subbies 2018

Div 2 Round 13 Tips UNSW v Epping - Epping have it all to play for and have knocked over 3 of the top 4 in the past few rounds. Will need to be at their best as they come up against an inconsistent Uni side who have shown they can play some good footy over the year. Epping by 4. St Pats v...
