    Australian Rugby / RA

I wonder if RA are aware of this situation. https://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/111871036/athletics-new-zealand-desperate-to-retain-sprint-sensation-edward-oseinketia#comments In short - Born in NZ - raised in Aus - just returned to NZ on a rugby scholarship - competed in Aus 100m...

    HSBC Sevens 2018-19

Probably as good of a draw as Aus could of got in the 3rd seedlings

    HSBC Sevens 2018-19

I don’t think the skill level of talent is an issue, the players have that in spades, it’s just general feel for the game and football intelligence. There was a lot of players getting isolated on the weekend and considering 7s reffed that you hardly need to keep your feet or hold your own weight...

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I’d had a few beers by the time I got there, so I could easily be wrong, I just thought it was down a little down on the usual.

As someone that was there I’d say 8500

Good to see Larkham’s brilliance has rubbed off on the Australian team since he’s been with them in HK. Haha

    Where to for Super Rugby?

WC is a poor example, it’s hardly a yearly competition. It’s not the bred and butter competition that generates interest and engagement in the game. The NFL has 250+ matches a season, is also complimented by the college football season, which is deliberately worked in tandem so they don’t clash...

    RD 8: Rebels v Sunwolves - Sat 6th @7:45pm

I agree would be a great pick up. Could do with Gunter as well. A rotation of Gunter, Vosayaco and Dempsey in the 6/8 spot with one on the bench would solve plenty of go forward headaches Tahs have

    NRC onwards and upwards

You’re right, that’d be under the proviso the NRC is no more and no professional domestic alternative was offered.

    NRC onwards and upwards

Either that or they will search short deals in Europe/Japan to bridge the gap. Places like Italy or the French Pro D2 could see an influx of players on 2/3 month deals. Guys looking for experiences while also earning a few extra dollars

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Serious question here. Can anyone point to a single case of scarcity of product been a successful case in sport????? Selling out the product for tv is completely the wrong thinking, it’s like anything in the professional world you develop your product for the market needs. While doing this you...

    Rebels 2019

Probably the most underrated player in Aus. Not saying he should be playing international, although I don’t think he’d let us down on a wing, but he’s just so dependable (minus knocking the ball on near the line haha). Best way I can sum him up would be he’s the type of player that the kiwi...

    RD 8: Rebels v Sunwolves - Sat 6th @7:45pm

Nice team on paper. Shame not seeing Vosayaco in the Sunwolves pack, he’s been great for them this year. Would be a great pick up for any Aussie team next season, will have to watch Gunter instead. Should get up by 10-12

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I’d welcome a springbok or two, but only if they’re legitimate internationals, I wouldn’t want any mid range player that an Aussie could fill the role from. Could potentially get a few over here obviously not earning what they could in Europe but maybe more in SA with the proviso they know they...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Anything that’s potentially built needs to be simple, in our time zone and leverage the existing strengths in the market, of which rugby has 4 recognizable brands, the Wallabies, Waratahs, Reds and to a lesser extent the Brumbies. Getting rid of any of these brands isn’t smart business. They are...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Under the new method teams will play the other Aus teams once, and only every second year at home. As a QLDer living in Melb, only getting to see that rivalry every two years, is simply not good enough. Playing the reds, Tahs and Brumbies three times wouldn’t bother me at all.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I don’t see how it’d impact it. It’s no different to the AFL or NRL games been on at the same time as the VFL or Q-Cup.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

There’s this notion that any competition minus the wallabies players is irrelevant and not worth supporting. I for one would rather an Australian Championship with the Super Rugby teams minus the wallabies contingent to support than some make shift tournament with random teams or the current version of...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Wingers missing tackles is usually an indication of something happening in the middle of the park. I’d look at how many collisions the are winning in the middle, cause that’s saying to me the wingers (considering it’s all of them) are been exposed because the opposition has front football...
