Barnes could be really good for us but, if his brief is to catch it and kick it then I'm not sure he's the right bloke. If Tamati leaves maybe BB at 12 and Mitch back at 13 could be a good option? I wonder if anyone is talking to Khoder Nasser?

Rebels v Hurricanes, R13, AAMI Park

I've been wondering for a while about TT's attitude towards some players. It looks, from the outside at least, that if there's something he isn't happy with he just rules a line through their name. Jordy being one example, Big Max being dropped for Cruze another. Since Pyle has made it know he's...

Sounds like Lilo is no chance for the Rebels. Barnes has as good a running and passing game as just about anyone but his kicking last year... horrible.

Rebels vs Force, Round 10, 2014

Looks like it will be a bit damp tonight. I hope the rain doesn't keep too many away from the game. Trying to remember the last time it rained for a game in Melbourne?

Hegarty is OK. Especially considering he's just 21 and only played a dozen or so games. With half a season of Super Rugby, a season of the national comp and a another preseason in front of him he could become anything. Lilo does tick all the boxes though. If we do pick him up, Hegarty could...

Rebels vs Force, Round 10, 2014

Nice work gents, talking up your underdog status already. I expect the Force to smash us like guitars. :)

A package deal of Lilo and Fardy would be pretty handy. Anyone know what's happening with Max? He's not listed among the wounded, nor is he named to play Dewar Shield.

    Chiefs v Rebels Rd 9 2014

I have no idea about recently but, during the pre-season Woodward apparently spent a fair bit of time training at 10.

    Chiefs v Rebels Rd 9 2014

I like the look of this backline. Inman/Ellison have been doing well in the centres, I wouldn't want to see that pairing changed while there are still other options. If Woodward makes a hash of playing at 10 then Gus could come on for Sau or Kingston. I actually thought Gus wasn't all that bad...

If Woodward plays on the wing I would prefer them to put one of those orange cones at fullback than start Gus there again.

Thanks for the link. In the interview Mitch says that Hugh was offered the chance to live in Paris... kind of narrows down which team he might be going to. Stade Francais or Racing Metro?

    No, you're not.

    Rebels v Brumbies Rnd 7 2014

Bit surprised to see Stirzaker start straight back from injury, even if Burgess didn't have a great game last week. Still, swap Gus for Roko (or Veainu, or a tackle bag) and I'd be pretty happy with that team. Looking forward to Inman/Ellison vs Lilo/Kuridrani. ^ This!

    Rebels 2014

I'm not sure about Pyle. In previous years he's been really effective playing a bit loose and still maintaining a high tackle count. This year, I'm not sure if he's a bit down on form or being made to play a style of game that doesn't suit him. Either way, we aren't seeing the best of him and he...

    Rebels 2014

    After tonight's effort I thought I'd have a look at how we were going after four games last year. It's not a pretty comparison. 2013/ 1 win 3 losses, scored 82 points for (7 tries) - 107 against (-25) 2014/ 1 win 3 losses, scored 69 points for (8 tries) - 103 against (-34) We've performed...

    Tahs v Rebels Rnd 6 2014

So, the 'tahs scored 32 points while Roberts was on the field and none while he was off. Coincidence? Next week I reckon Roberts should start at full back, for Box Hill. Play Kingston at 15 and bring Veainu on to the bench. And maybe Timani in for Neville.

    Tahs v Rebels Rnd 6 2014

Roberts is a spud. He's pretty much cost us two tries already, one to them and a bloody good chance at one to us.

Rebels vs Crusaders, Rnd 4, 14 March 2014 @ AAMI

I assume that Fug has served his penance and will come back in to the side this week. That means that one of Timani, Fainga'a or McMahon will have to drop out of the 23. I think I'd give McMahon the week off and start Timani and Fainga'a at 6 and 7. Roberts out - Male Sau in, please.
