BTW, tomorrow night's game is being streamed on the Reds website.

    Rebels 2017

The reports from the first trial weren't too flattering. He looked alright in the 10s. We'll have a bit better idea tomorrow night after the Reds game as TT has him starting at 10. I wouldn't be surprised if JD, Volavola and Man Bun all get a run there tomorrow as well.

2017 TV ratings and crowd figures

The Carlton Vs Collingwood game pulled just under 900,000 alone. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-02-04/tv-ratings-bonanza-for-aflw-opener

    Rebels 2017

So, how 'bout them Rebels, eh? Anyone reading anything into the selections for the trial game tonight? Retallick, Cummins, LT at 4,5 & 6. Mitch at 13 I'd guess that TT is starting JG-B and Maddocks to have a look at them. Two hookers and no reserve lock on the bench is a bit of a plot...

Koroibete has a bit of a bung knee. He's in doubt for the 10s and could miss the start of the season :( It's almost like 2016 all over again - except the season hasn't even started.

I am going to guess that his point is - Rugby in Melbourne has massive growth potential and is therefore an integral and essential component of the Australian rugby landscape.

    Test ticket prices

Many (many) years ago, I remember my sales manager at the time teaching me - "Price it to sell - sell it out - put the price up". I reckon it's still a good strategy. Sold out events always have a sensational atmosphere and create a buzz around town. 60% full stadia makes it look like people...

I'm happy to be proven wrong but I don't have high hopes for Day. Mind you, I'm basing this on one game that I saw him play for Verblitz last October; it could have been just a bad day (nyuk, nyuk, nyuk). He came on at 60 mins (starting from the bench is no big deal, in the Top League only...

Schatz at 6 and Mafi at 8 probably means Timani stays in the 2nd row. Injury cover guys have to go as soon as the player they're replacing returns though don't they?

^ Yep. All these extra players will be good value for the Dewar Shield teams that pick them up.

    Rebels 2017

I would rather see something like - 4. Jeffries 5. Retallick/Cummins 6. Mafi 7. Reid 8. LT We're going to need to play two locks that can take a line out with Reid/LT/Colby as the third option. Our line out already gets pantsed on a regular basis. Going with only one primary jumper isn't...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Thanks for that. Super Rugby is going to be a bit of a step up for him then. Tokyo Gas aren't even in the Top League, they're the next level down. He wouldn't be getting much competition week to week.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

He's their biggest loss. Tatekawa is a better 12 than a 10, Tamura is alright but not in the same class as Pisi, Cripps is also listed as a 10 - don't know anything about him.
