Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

I can see this turning into yet another Rebels dog fight. Brums obvious favs but I don’t think it will be by much. Brums by 3 in a low scoring match

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 5 Force v Rebels

Is it really a big loss? Thought Lomani was decent when he came on. Issue with Louwrens is that he’s a good game manager but an atrocious passer (for a scrum half). I’d love to see Tuttle given a run

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The real thing is in 12 months time what would this list look like Currently i rate them 1) Crusaders 2) Hurricanes/Blues 3) Hurricanes/Blues 4) Brumbies 5) Highlanders/Chiefs (Highlanders were poo earlier this year, Chiefs were good now its a reverse, so i rate them similar) 6) Reds/Rebels 7)...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Combining the two comps - Crusaders clearly the best - Blues and Hurricanes fighting it out for runner up - Brumbies slightly better than Highlanders and Chiefs - Reds and Rebels slightly worse than Chiefs and Highlanders - Tahs and Force clearly worse than the rest but the Tahs are the most...

    Wallabies 2020

If we see some sort of tv deal signed and some confidence for players salarywise i think we will see Philip selected because he will be able to guarantee returning to the Rebels in the back end of the domestic season next year, as his current intention is to do. And i think we will see Rodda...

    Wallabies 2020

Don’t want Daugunu on the bench either. Bench back needs to be versatile, for me it’s out of Hodge and Wright with Wright leading that 2 horse race for a decent margin currently.

    Wallabies 2020

I don’t like the thought of JOC (James O'Connor) at 10. He still looks like a centre playing 10. To'omua is similar but exhibits a lot more control over the match than JOC (James O'Connor) does. His kicking isn’t great and at times very loose with the ball in hand, don’t get me wrong he has been in solid form but I think he’s...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Player percentage as an allocation of revenue lol now I have heard everything. Africa is still waiting for several $100m a year in revenue from the English Prem League from their player representation in the competition

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 5 Force v Rebels

That’s correct. Sounded like Magnay is first choice 13. I have no idea how far off Semisi Tupou is, he did his ACL in preseason which is normally 8-9 months. The club sees him as a centre into the future, played at 13 for the u20s last year.

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 5 Force v Rebels

Wessels said in the press conference that he’s just playing there because there isn’t many other options in the squad atm. Even described him as 4th choice behind Magnay, English and Hodge.

    Reds 2021

Yep Vunivalu was a star school boy rugby player in Auckland. Then went to the Blues academy where he again was a standout. That’s when the Storm came knocking on the door.

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 5 Force v Rebels

I think the way the game is going Meakes would be better transitioning to a 13. 12s now are either massive ball carriers or a genuine all rounder in the Stewart/Simone role. His strengths are his short passing game and footwork at the line, I think it could be perfect for creating space for his...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I’m firmly in the camp of the SRAU competition then an Asian Pacific Cup involving all 5 teams. Would also mean any expansion going forward would be under our own control, could easily expand the domestic SRAU without exposing teams to international competition until they are ready.

    Rebels 2020

I’m a hodge fan on the wing, his strike rate at international and Super Rugby level is very impressive. His biggest issues are his defensive reads (not a bad tackler but gets caught in no mans land at least once a game) but also needs some softer hands. I don’t feel very safe with him under the high ball...

    All Blacks vs Kangaroos?

You better put down what you are smoking. Both teams would comfortably win their own games, I’d be surprised if either team stayed within 30 points of the other. As for a hybrid it has to be geared towards league and I think you’re seriously underestimating the talent in the NRL, they are the...

    All Blacks vs Kangaroos?

I doubt this will go ahead, for everything to gain there is everything to lose. The game would be played towards league rules which would mean the ABs would get spanked on the park and damage their brand, especially towards the casual viewer that wouldn’t understand the differences between the...

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 5 Force v Rebels

I’m looking forward to seeing Pincus get a run. Was sensational against the Brumby Runners earlier this year and comfortably the best player on the field for either team. Has experience playing in the premiership so shouldn’t be overawed

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 5 Force v Rebels

If the Rebels can keep it tight until the benches come into effect, then that should be enough to get over the top of the Force.

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 5 Force v Rebels

It good to see a genuine rivalry in Aus ruby forming. We have very few prob only Reds vs Tahs and Brums v Tahs, as the ones with something extra. The others are good battles but these ones have that little bit something more on the line. They should be talking this up in the media.
