    Where to for Super Rugby?

I’m all for SOO if they had a Vic v WA game televised as the lead in. Has anyone ever thought about a Public vs Private??? That is something that I believe genuinely has some tribalism to it in rugby circles.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I completely understand that. However qualification no.1 is birth then it branches off to other measures. If you answer no to the birth question it branches off to a 13th birthday rationale. https://www.nrl.com/siteassets/documents/state-of-origin-eligibility-rules.pdf

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Surely they would copy the NRL criteria. It’s gotta mean something to those playing. Been a QLDer and knowing what we are like, I don’t think anyone that did schooling in another state or playing club rugby in another state would identify themselves as anything but a QLDer

A league head to head on the Friday they only got 14k.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

There is already an inbuilt sporting hatred between the two states with the AFL that would feed into some rivalry. Sorry ACT you’re the Switzerland of states/territories hard to build bitterness between you and other area

    Rugby News from unexpected places

I’m of the belief that anyone coming into the system before that date would have the 3yr eligibility applied to them. I could be wrong. You’re right about Kata, however he moved to Melbourne Storm during that season (just didn’t play a game), so would be mid ‘22

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Louwrens would be eligible in 12months. Douglas still requires another 2 yrs, he went home during the World Cup to play for Edinburgh on a short term deal which reset his eligibility timeframe. Rebels young SA forward Eloff now also eligible in 12months. Kata would be available mid next year...

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

I think Hanson looks like an out and out 15, Kuenzle looks like he could be a good 12. Both obviously good enough to do a ‘job’ at 10 but really surprised to see Pasitoa hasn’t been looked at. Fully expecting White to come into the side in the coming weeks and Brums playing a lot from 9.

Super Rugby AU 2020 - The Run Home

This weeks Reds vs Rebels game is huge for the overall. If Rebels win I think they will end up on top of the log, a loss for the Reds would also seriously put Thorns spot at the helm in jeopardy (especially if the Tahs get a win). A reds win will heap a lot of pressure on the Rebels to finish...

    Wallabies 2020

Would love to see a version of Vic vs WA. DHP, Hardwick, Hardy, RHP back in WA Valetini, Samu, Paisami, Faulkner back in Vic Some solid Shute shield players like Rodney Iona and Josh Coward playing for Vic. Tizzano and McDonald from the Tahs larger squad in a one off game. Played as a...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

No idea where to put this but turns out World Rugby have changed the dates for the 5yr (60 month eligibility) rule to come into affect at the end of next year. This brings into place a few guys that now will be eligible for the wallabies that weren’t previously going to be for a decent amount of...

Super Rugby AU Round 6 - Waratahs vs Reds @ SCG, Saturday 8 August 2020

He’s still someone that’s contracted to the Reds in some capacity, more importantly on the JobKeeper amount which would mean the majority of his wage would be subsidized by it. Bringing someone from outside the club would require new insurance to be paid, plus what ever wage is paid on top of...

    Wallabies 2020

Ramm has been consistently great. He joins the extended lineup on what is now one of our most loaded positions in the country been left winger. Koroibete, Wright, Daugunu are all left wingers as well, it would be interesting to see one of these guys have a few games on the right to get their...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Injuries in the AFL and NRL are at an almost record high. Manly have over 10 players on the injury list, the Raiders arent too far off as well. It’s a FIGJAM comment on the superiority of the league

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Exactly “let’s magnify it with 2 more immensely talented teams that will play at a minimum the same level, oh and add a team of massive Pacific Islanders”. It’s just a tyre pumping exercise, I’d almost guarantee if you matched it against the Aus attrition rate it would look very similar. The...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think you’ll find that’s just the usual attrition rate. It was only last year the chiefs used around 40 players in a season.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Completely agree, I fully believe this comment has simply become trendy to say and doesn’t have much truth to it. For gods sake it’s 8 matches with 2 byes jammed inbetween.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The thing I liked most about it was the independent commission of a competition. I am confident RA and it’s private equity conversations have revolves around a longer domestic season to provide content and greater visibility for sponsors.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

DT been the DT. The only guy that’s genuinely unavailable all season for injury is Rangi. Cottrell will join the squad after quarantine for the next two weeks
