Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

I would say that Dennis and Simmons have both had pretty decent careers, wouldn't you agree?

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

Solid team but still some odd selections: Why move Koro to the right (or wrong) wing? How do either of RH-P or Cottrell start ahead of Jones? Why have two specialist backs on the pine with a 6/2 bench? Surely you would pick a halfback and someone that can cover a few positions. Wessells...

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

Yeah, there are some good players in their team but they've only been together a couple of weeks. We definitely need a bonus point win here. Most good teams will be targeting five points when they play the SW, if we don't get one it puts us behind from the start.

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

I had pretty much forgotten about checking the home page. Sounds like Uelese is out till round 5. I actually expect Jones to play lock. We're a bit light on there and we have a shit load of backrowers. Was Rennie at the training that you watched? If he was, did he interact with the players...

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

I'd have a few different picks. I would play Jones at 6. The lineout was a real weapon last year when we had Coleman, Philip, and Jones all on the park. Assuming, as you said, Gibbon is missing then: 1 Sa'aga 2 Rangi 3 Smith 4 RHP 5 Philip 6 Jones 7 Leota 8 Naisarani 9 Lomani 10 To'omua 11...

    All Sloppy Rig/Dad-Bod XV

Culum Retallick for Lock Foward Edit: the wide angle lens isn't doing him any favours here, TBF. Second edit: not an international but did play for four Super Rugby clubs.

Shout out to Cooper Vuna for the other wing. Was looking a little chunky at the RWC

Super Rugby Trial Rebels v Brumbies 23JAN20 Greenfield Park Albury 345pm

He used a similar strategy last year and that worked out pretty well. In the first five rounds last season the Rebels had a bye, beat the Brumbies twice, beat the Highlanders and were cheated out of a win against the Lions. Can't blame the preseason games for the wheels falling off after that...

Super Rugby Trial Rebels v Brumbies 23JAN20 Greenfield Park Albury 345pm

Quite a few missing that I would have expected to have seen named: Uelese, Killingworth, Ainsley, Kemeny, Fa'amasili, Magnay, Louwrens. Edit: Plus Tuttle and Tupou. English, I think only finished up in Japan last weekend.

    Waratahs 2020

Yeah, this quote from Penney sounds tappish: Waratahs coach Rob Penney said Simmons was a clear choice to replace Hooper, given his experience and the regard in which he is held by his teammates. “We’ve had a number of conversations about this and we feel that this is in the best interest of...

    Rebels 2020

I would have been happy enough to have seen a team something like this trial against the Reds. It's still a "B team" but most of these blokes should be pushing for a spot in the 23. The second trial game would be a lot closer to running out a likely starting 15 with the better performers from...

Super Rugby Trial: Reds v Rebels 17 January 2020

Yep. Except for maybe Gibbon we can probably figure out Wessels preferred 23 by the players that weren't there.
