Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

I remember that being said in 2011 if not 2010 about QC (Quade Cooper) with McKenzie dropping him back. This was when QC (Quade Cooper) had real pace and a very good step off both feet before his knee injury which robbed him off his pace.

French Barbarians v Australia, Thursday 24 November

anyone know when the actual wallaby team will be announced? That will answer some questions on who will be playing against Ireland.

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

Wallabies had a torrid 2 games in a row against then and then easily backed up in the 3rd game and won. Except for injuries Henshaw and Sexton Ireland will back up fine.

Interesting. Depending on the locks and backrow England play with their injuries and now suspension I would play 6 Mumm, 7 Pocock 8 Timani.

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

As I wrote before I would select Pooper and Timani starting for this game. McMahon is probably out injured. I would drop Speight. If Speight was being kept for his frontline defense then Naivalu is a better proposition. He defended better against France and is a more dangerous attacker and...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

The Irish strength is their backrow , and with Sexton out the tactics will be choke tackles, keeping the ball in hand and attack the breakdown. Normally I don't want Pooper to play. However the right call is to select Pocock 6 Hooper 7 and Timani 8. The battle will be won at the breakdown...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

NZ outscrummed Ireland and Aust at the minimum matched NZ in the scrums so I don't see that. The backrow will be a great matchup with Pocock, Hooper and Timani. Pocock slightly better than S Obrien. Heaslip better than Timani. Hooper slightly better, so overall call that equal. Irish locks...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

Ireland have only palyed 3 games this season. They played a B team against Canada. So 2 hard games against NZ with a week in between. Aust does this every year except no weeks break yet are fine in the 3rd game. Aust have played 13 games so if anything would be more tired.

Then as moderator you should censor / ban posts that include statements like Too many waratahs Wallatahs when referring to the Wallabies Talk about a tahs conspiracy Cheika favours tahs. I honestly don't see the same ones i.e too many reds etc but all those as well. State based parochialism...

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

It is distasteful but a common occurrence with the advent of the TMO. Wallabies should do it more. I agree on both instances the early tackle was clear on slo mo. The clearing of Godwin near the ruck AND then holding him back created a hole, I have seen those called back before. Interesting...

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Lee Grant - The ref was Glen Jackson not Clancy. Aussies and Moore are accused of whinging too much so I don't know if that would work. They need to bring in a captains call 1 each half to have things checked, if you are wrong you lose it. Foley kicked all the ones in front, missed the...

French Barbarians v Australia, Thursday 24 November

Brumby Runner - Looks like they had a plan all along and not stuff up the preparation for the ireland game. Of course if McMahon and Cooper are injured then it may happen that someone has to double up but I doubt it.

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Foley needs a second playmaker either at 12 or at f/b like Beale provided. The main issue I see is that Kerevi and TK would be great strike runners and deserve for both to be on. However Cheika does not see Kerevi as a playmaker when IMO he as much as Hodge is. I would prefer QC (Quade Cooper) at 10 if...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

If QC (Quade Cooper) is only going to get 5 mins then Godwin is the better choice because he covers more positions and for his defence. If QC (Quade Cooper) was there in case the wallabies got way behind that would be another thing however against NZ he wasn't brought in with that situation.

and a better ref would have reviewed and penalised or yc the early tackle on Naivalu. There are always things a ref misses or does inconsistently. Many cases where france were off their feet at the breakdown as well.

That would mean the back 3 is Pooper, Hooper, McMahon. Too light, too small, too short.

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Sometimes it seems to me that some of the people who criticise Cheika heavily would prefer for the wallabies to lose so they can be proven right. As for me happy to be wrong anytime Wallabies win. I thought it was too big a risk and rested too many, turned out I was wrong.

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

Then play Naivalu instead of Speight if Morahan can't defend well. In super rugby the various tackle success rates Morahan - 76% DHP - 70% Naivalu 78% Speight - 95% In tests DHP - 70% Speight - 71% I hate picking wingers like Horne so they can defend in the line and their attack is not...

No Hooper should be used like Ardie off the bench with Pocock starting like Cane / Todd. McMahon can wait until next year or if only 3 jumpers are selected for Ireland / England then Pooper can start with McMahon on the bench.

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

I did say it was my team. Cheika will go with Pooper, Pocock won't be benched. He has missed a lot of games this year and does not need a break.
