England v Australia, Saturday 3 December

wallabies have been hit by injuries and by players joining clubs and are unavailable. That is why the bench lacks talent, that is not cheika's fault. In fact the super rugby coaches failed more in developing talent. Cheika has done a good job improving the new players, biggest issue he...

He competed mainly in attacking breakdowns i.e clearing bodies away which means the ball would have been protected better than it was. Those early pilfers by Ireland may not have happened. How many times did they get a penalty or turnover the ball in the first half, quite a few.

Most of mumm's run metres are out wide, Timani's are all in tight getting front foot ball. Also doesn't measure dominance or physicality of tackles. Since mobility and speed is Mumm's greatest asset after his lineout , these stats show the only value Mumm adds is in the lineout. At the...

It is called a balanced backrow. Hooper could replace Pocock depending how the game is going. Hooper would have more impact later in the game as they get tired. Hooper had zero impact against ireland in the first half. During the first half both Timani and Fardy would have been more useful...

so it was still the wrong call. Breakdown not lineout is what hurt. Fardy at 6 Pocock at 7 and Timani at 8 would have been far better against ireland than Mumm, Hooper, Pocock

Agree with Coleman. However I would have Fardy in the team and he has called lineouts. I believe Arnold is injured so it is a moot point. Mumm ahead of skelton is a good call.

Overall I am happy with the team, better than the one put out against Ireland. Timani and Naivalu great choices, Timani should never have been dropped and Naivalu starting is well over due. I do not like the Pooper , either Pocock or Hooper should be on the bench and Fardy starting. If Mumm...

sefa is a well over due choice. Better all round than speight in attack and defence.

the whole tight 5 are a big drop off backs strong though

IMO Latu adds the same impact as TPN, he is the same type of hooker, physical and very good scrumager. QC (Quade Cooper) is also a good impact player except he will be lucky to get 5 mins. McMahon if he is injured should not be there so I assume he is fit and is an impact player, however the big english...

I would be looking at Timani lasting 80 mins as he has before and replacing either Pocock or Hooper (whomever is having less impact) with McMahon. Timani has had a good rest after all did not play against Ireland or France. I know Cheika probably won't do this though.

The whole problem their his backrow team mates Mumm and Hooper were no where to be seen helping him

no you don't understand. What year were off field citings introduced? Prior to that point only if a player was sent off were they suspended. At some point they started reviewing matches and issuing citings. I did a search and cannot find when it first started. Found when red / yc cards were...

off topic. Does anyone know when citings /suspensions came into the game OTHER than from being sent off by the ref. In other words when did officials first review games and then have players cited to appear before a judiciary.

The same coaching team has been there for a while. The difference is Simmons is motivated to take on board and action what they make available.

Trouble with that is say starters are (but won't be) Sio, Moore, Kepu,Arnold, Simmons, Fardy, Pocock, Timani then bench would be Robertson, Latu, Ala'alatoa, Douglas, Mumm, Hooper, McMahon, Frisby Even worse than Frisby covering all back positions is Mumm in the team

Simmons is a good example of what competition for spots does. Previously he could rest on his laurels of being a lineout general and high work rate. He could avoid physicality, lengthens his career after all. Along comes Coleman and Arnold and lo and behold Simmons lifts his physicality.

Thanks forgot that, so they are on 14 wins , then aust would make 15, they can win their first 4 6'n's and they break the record before playing ireland.
