    National Tournaments 2014

Have been told yes and that State Champs is seen as a key path for boys overlooked for JGS in 2014 - i.e. the whole process starts again at State Champs.

It’s also how they fit in the religious studies and many other co-curricular activities!

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I'm not sure i would put my house on the accuracy of that statement.

Newington will not be "outed". Their team stacking in rugby was in the venerable tradition of trying to secure silver ware in a significant anniversary year, whereas, TCS were hell bent on world domination! That, and the action was taken via the backdoor so to speak - the basketball was...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I don't think there have been Saturday competitions for a few years Not quite accurate - when the comp went Sydney wide (as a Sunday based comp) the majority of teams transferred into the graded Sunday comp rather than hang around in the locality based Saturday comp. Friday Night & Saturday...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Lastly if we are going to try to re-invigorate Saturday Club Rugby, and we manage to cover the loss of volunteers to the School rugby spectating, do we have enough referees to cover all Saturday School Rugby games, AND Saturday club games. The schools for the most part are close to self...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

It's been noted before, but if you want to look at a model of rugby administration that is a runaway success and the game is evidencing “strength” – look at Sydney Subbies. Ever since the board of management appointed a powerful CEO who is above the self serving politics they have been able to...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Never - they'll just stop providing uniforms. Oops - told by a whistle blowing pal that they did that a few years back, only replacing totally crapped out stuff & providing for first timers. (at least at a district level)

Don't know if it's been commented upon previously, but the AAGPS Code of practice (No inducements such as sporting scholarships...) is now dated November 2013. Can't spot any big changes and the timing would appear not to allow for the external strategic review foreshadowed by Wright of Shore...

didn't see that on the weekend & can't spot anything in SMH online - what was the thrust?

By taking action in basketball the 5 broach the subject but in what I am confident they thought would be a low key environment, after all, basketball rarely rates the coverage of rugby or cricket or rowing. TSC have continued to rebuff the rebuke and that action has now escalated into a quite...

“The 5” have pulled the trigger and there is no going back. I anticipate that they thought that TSC would take the rebuke and come to heel with less complications than are being experienced. That TSC has continued to deny any wrongdoing is an outcome for which I wonder if “the 5” have a...

    CAS Rugby 2014

I think if you sniff hard enough that you will find each school doing some sort of out of season "work"; weight sessions, light skill sessions and the like.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the broader world has forgotten this issue. First media reports about a month ago, a flurry of activity about 10 days ago leading up to round 1 - now, SILENCE. Nothing to see here folks, move along please.

I thought that was mildly obvious - Basketball is a less important sport than the rugger. To have buggered around with the rugger season would have been akin to cancelling the rowing! By cancelling the basketball, they get their day of moral high ground without really affecting teh universe...

6 entries by you over night dodgy without anyone else saying a word - you really are being dragged into this unwillingly! You even manage to quote your self in self defence to an argument that no one has raised against you. Check your meds lad. EDIT - 3 subsequently removed, including the...

That's not a bursary - that''s a multi student discount! Common pratice to give 5% off for the first brother (or sister) attending the same school at the same time! The more kids you send th ebiger the discount! A very masonic discount IMHO.
