    Wallabies 2023

Arnold didn't start and I specifically said whilst Frost and Hooper are big, they don't play big. Hoopers coach even said he needs to develop more power. Playing big means physically owning the space. Both those 2 give it up because whilst large humans, are not powerful humans.

    Wallabies 2023

SHould never have been Nonggoor. Talakai or Pone should have been there IMO. Now, I'm not Eddie but I didn't think that was a tough one.

    Wallabies 2023

Balanced frost with skelton Balanced hooper with valetini BUT then Both hooker and 7 are small Both props aren't big So whilst there was balance within particular internal units, there wasn't balance as a pack Need a balance of workrate and impact - we got the balance wrong. Too much work, not...

    Wallabies 2023

Whilst not supermen, I believe Bell and Tupou can WIN penalties, not just remain neutral off the bench, whereas Nonggoor and Gibbon were actively detracting. I think we also do need at least 1 more big man starting. Frost and Hooper are big, but don't play big - can't have both start at once...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Grey was crap as tahs defence, but mate cheika took him to wallabies as their defence - equally as crap, now U20s coach. Same was with Gilmore - Good at U20, was a crap reds assistant, then back to U20, then to tahs assistant where is also average. Go with Les. Heenan as # 1 assistant. Kefu...

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

Foketi has got nothing on a combination of Esterhuizen & Am. He would be ineffective. Hodge however, offers the biggest boot on the field, and a second voice outside Quade. I expect to see him at 1st receiver (leaving quade to roam wider) and fullback (for kicking duels with Leroux) more often...

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

I would hardly call Frost ' more experienced'. Unless Holloway goes to lock, then no, I'd stick with Arnold and Skelton and have them apply their mass and prowess. Both a central parts to the best provincial teams in the world, known for their physically dominating play. Suits SA to a tee, with...

    Wallabies 2023

I know it was listed somewhere, but no way is T. Hooper 120+ Realistically if you wanted a bigger 7 it was be Samu, and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) would be a more natural fit (and equally heavy) no.6 Then of course a bench of 16. BPA 17. Slipper 18. Pone 19. Arnoldx2 20. Gleeson

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

I agree. At least a wing with some positional nous like Kellaway to balance the strike power of Koroibete. I get nervous with a 'strike heavy' backline, as you say, need 1 more voice out there. But, Kellaway not available and Hodge doesn't keep anyone out of the starting team unless it's Wright...

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

Happened a thousand times but putting my list together. Bell 'available' but under a cloud, so will omit 1. Slipper 2. Porecki 3. Ala'alatoa 4. Arnold 5. Skelton 6. Holloway 8. Valetini 7. Hoops 9. White 10. Quade 11. Koroibete 12. Kerevi 13. Ikitau 14. MarkyMark 15. Wright 16. Uelese 17. Gibbon...

    Wallabies 2023

I'd suggest the others backs are all training and being considered for the match day 23 exclusively in ONE position, including Hodge.

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

I hope so - would start AAA. But Tupou said himself he's a bit nervous and hesitant. If he ISNT fit to play, then we rely on Nongoor which worries me. Especially a Gibbon/Nonggoor bench. I would have been more comfortable with a unit - such as Gibbon/Uelese/Pone or Talakai as the bench. If it...

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

Well that would really be Tupou...and the only other option is Nonggoor. So I really hope Tupou is ready because Pone or Talakai would have been better off the bench V springboks.

    Wallabies 2023

Nonggoor > Pone & Talakai is my head scratcher. (though I would have taken LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) over Hooper just because already a bit shakey with Leota with no form and another novice in Kemeny) Nonggoor has got rolled multiple times this year - surely either a giant beast pone or a reliable ancher talakai...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Canham is hardly a good starter yet (but I like him) Losing BOTH Philip and Hosea is bad. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is a good replacement for either one of them, not both. Net loss here. Losing the 2nd choice no.7 and 1st choice no.8 in Hardwick. Ekuasi was a surprise find but who will be Wilkins backup? If Wilkins...
