Thanks GO and Happy New Year to you too. I will need to have a think on this and put together a list. BBC the big improvers in 14's for mine as the top 2 come back to the field - but will it be enough. Would need a little insight into the new boys at BBC in 13's, the twins are a nice...

Way too early to do this with any confidence and I look forward to making adjustments in May. But here is my preseason prediction 1. TSS /NC 3. GT/BBC 5. BSHS/ACGS 7. BGS/TGS/IGS I think TSS are due and on paper probably have the best ‘preseason squad’ for a third straight year. NC are...

Yea there is a lot of options at GT this year, but I must say the centers were an obvious weakness in the 1st last last year and both starters have moved on. The 16A's were pretty weak in the mid field as well with the new 'import' very disappointing (especially in defense) and was moved to...

I am not sure Howard will get much of a run in the 1sts this year as there is a lot of competition for back row spots and I doubt he has the size to move up front. I expect if anyone is inteh mix it will be back line players like Hartland and Honi- Stevens.

With the Junior Gold Cup selections on at the moment - I was looking at the Qld u/15 side from last year which was dominated by GPS boys. Which if any of these players should we expect to see playing in the Firsts next year? Nudgee 3 Tom Forde 5 Mitchell Wood 7 Alex Colvin 8 Joseph Small ©...

Was talking about State High - Not TSS. They had an excellent 16s team.

Do you have inside knowledge - do they rate themselves contenders?? Looking forward to the team news next year I'll put a watch on High. BAG

Agreed on TSS - I seriously ask what are you basing this statement on - Not that I am saying you are wrong - but their 16s where terrible and the 1stXV (not sure how many are back) didn't impress me that much in the game I saw - in fact I though GT lost that game rather than BSHS winning it...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

Agreed and by the same argument, I think it is reasonable to expect significant improvement from those those boys entering their true 17-18 that played at 16-17 It is likely IMO a player like Nasser at GT will go from (just) holding his own to a dominant player the following season. His...

I never said they were 'so good' just that they are (2015) and will remain (2016) better than the majority of your top 5 based on nearly all exposed measurables. If anything my post was saying your top 5 is extremely unlikely to pan out. Maybe I should of asked why you think BSHS and BGS are...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

Given NC lost only one game in the 16's and 2 (both with significant players unavailable) in the 15's I am prepared to say they will finish in front of the majority of your Top 5 list. Did BSHS win a game in the 16 A's - not sure why all the positive BSHS talk this off season. What odds you...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

I expect GT to be much more competitive over the next 4-5 years than they have been for the last 3 - they have a lot of good talent coming through. I don't expect to see many, if any recruits joining the 1st squad this year and the coaching wont change dramatically IMO. Very hard to pick a...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Maybe they just improved as the season went on and they are now the better player, pretty simple really - no one is entitled to picked no matter how many hoops they jump through.

I am on record as being pro recruitment in the younger (intake) age groups, less so in 16's and opens, so I am more than happy with what GT is up to at present - just get a giggle out of the all the exaggeration that goes on. When the teams are announced for round 1 next year I will honestly...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

Well we nearly pulled it off this year (U14) with the addition of just one lad compared to 2-3 from the pace setters in 2014, so imagine what we can do with a additional, what is it now, 5 or 6. lol
  18. BraveandGame

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

I am sure it will be just as exaggerated as it was this year - but i hope we get half of the players (3-5 in every age group) I have heard linked to the school we will win everything!!! - bar firsts of course you cant buy that title ;-)

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

No they wouldn't because GT CAN'T run at the top of the table because the boys don't play all the games, in fact the teams don't even play all the games - that is the point. The BSHS U13 game was the lowest crowd the GT 13s had all season, the team was done and the outcomes was inevitable -...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

I am with Darkside on this - GT's u15s will never be competitive across the season due to the very intensive immersion program they undertake - they don't play NC at all and at least 2 more games are significantly effected by boys being away all week (sometimes overseas). They were completely...
