Israel Folau can send this thread to hell and no others

I have to admit that I haven't had many close friends who have gone through this but I did read this tweet from an ABC presenter who grew up in a religious household and is gay And it made me feel sick to my stomach that anyone would have that sort of life experience based on just who they are.

    Rebels 2018

The AFL is much more extreme on this though than other competitions. With the draft and salary caps, each team pretty much has an opportunity to be a potential flag winner every decade or so. A good team pretty much gets 3 years at the top before they start getting hit by the rubber band...

Israel Folau can send this thread to hell and no others

Potgieter is not a wallaby. Folau is. Potgieter isn't one of the major faces of Australian rugby in all promotional material - most casual fans who have no idea who he is. Folau is the biggest name in Australian rugby due partially to playing in the other codes. Potgieter said it on the field...

Israel Folau can send this thread to hell and no others

news.com is 100 times worse. I don't know why I bother with that site anymore. Articles on some stupid reality show. And some stupid article on Warner's awkward interview where apparently he didn't recognise someone that I have never heard of.

And if there is no reaction from RA and Alan Joyce decides that he does not want to be involved with an organisation which allows those sort of comments and pulls Qantas's sponsorship ...

Israel Folau can send this thread to hell and no others

Sigh ... why on earth would you make that sort of comment on the internet. Just don't answer the question ...

    Rebels 2018

Well, 18/23 in 18/28 is a lot better than the Rebels would have (for example). I can't really be bothered going through all the games or finding a stats summary, but of the 23 in the first game last year, only 7 were in the 23 for the first game this year (would have probably been a couple more...

    Rebels 2018

Really? The Wallabies played 28 games over the past 2 years. Of those, 18 players were in the 23 for 18 or more games

    Rebels 2018

And let's be brutally honest ... 3 wins from 5, being top of the table and having more tries in the first 4 games than the whole of last year isn't bad ....

    Rebels 2018

And that works great until the shit goes down and the panic sets in. What is then needed is strong leadership to calm the situation down and trust that people are going to do their jobs. The Rebels don't seem to have that at the moment. I'm not convinced about Coleman as captain. The line...

    Rebels 2018

No, we were blaming McGahan for Having no game plan. We now have a game plan but probably need 2 Pretty much every player not developing and playing worse than the prior year We did lose to the Hurricane 71-6 last year and had 7 out of the 15 games where more than 40 points were scored...

They close off part of AAMI stadium. Have for a couple of years now. At this point, more people attending is good. Increases profile and you can push the price up a couple of dollars later in the season to increase the margin without losing too many.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

The obvious ones are Hunt and Folau. In 5 minutes on google (and avoiding the paywalls) Nick Price - https://www.theroar.com.au/2008/10/17/rugby-codes-losing-the-elite-athlete-battle-to-football-afl/ Connor Ballenden - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-21/kiwi-prospect-set-to-shine Tom...

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

The NZ fans only turn up for the NZ games. (Edit: A lot) don't seem to care about rugby in Australia. There were definitely lots of people there last night and a lot of Hurricane fans. Very very good crowd though given it is also a long weekend. I really was only expecting 12k so was rather...

Super Rugby Rd. 7. Rebels v Hurricanes at AAMI Park, Friday 30th @ 7.30pm

I'm not sure I'd go with fitness. I think it is more mindset. Once things go against them, they fall apart and don't have the team belief and strength to pull it back together. As yet ... this is only game 5 as a team so hopefully it is something they can develop through the season.

    Rebels 2018

If it was just the one game then I would probably go for that - particularly given how ridiculously good the Hurricanes are - but given it happened against the Waratahs as well and the team, in both games, went from being able to score points to looking very similar to headless chickens when...

    Rebels 2018

The Rebels have again shown their weakness - an inability to even vaguely regain some control of a game after they get rattled. I suspect it is either lack of maturity and experience as individuals or as a combined team. Hopefully with time they can develop this.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

100% agree. We don't have 15 teams. We have a 4 team competition where in some weeks 2 of the teams are having a bye and teams can spend months without home games. Pretty hard to build up momentum for less rusted on fans behind a team with that sort of situation.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

If you only count SuperRugby as currently professional (ie enough to make a living on noting that you have a shortened career) then there are currently about 130 available positions in Australia. There are 707 listed players in the AFL of which 372 earned over $300k and 135 over $500k...
