2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Based on what? The average crowds in 2016 for the Force were well below 10k.

    Rebels 2018

Oh course. Meanwhile, the heartlands of rugby can only get a couple of thousand over the rugby outpost of Melbourne and somehow that isn't as big of an issue ...

    Rebels 2018

Ah yeah, but we are still short on the 23 tries for the whole year. Last year wasn’t the greatest

    Reds 2018

I was joking a little. Look, it could be worse, last week was the first time I saw the Rebels win for about 20 months and the Force fans don't even have a team anymore. But my personal opinion is that this is going to be the season from hell for the Reds. Losing Cooper, Hunt and Frisby after...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I’m talking about the Rebels. The Reds just suck :)

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It was really unusually humid in Melbourne for the Rebels v Reds game. I'm sure that this combined with 2 new coaches and very different teams than last year with little preseason for some, had a significant impact. Lance was only signed for the Reds a few weeks before the game.

    Reds 2018

If only the Reds had some other experienced option at fly half that they could use ...

    Reds 2018

Lance back to Worcester for 2018/19. Only around for this season. Very odd. Not surprised the Rebels let him go if this was the case but not sure why the Reds would take him on https://www.premiershiprugby.com/2017-2018/worcester-warriors-sign-jono-lance-2018-19-season/

    Reds 2018

That is why you have the experience of Tony McGahan as defense coach ... Hahahahahahahahaha

    Reds 2018

Love the idea of Hunt being captain. The whole team can go out to the Valley to celebrate a win ....

    Super Round 2, 2018 - Rebels V Reds @ AAMI Park

Well no, but he could have said that it was a legal tackle which accidentally went high due to the movements of all players and although he thinks that the red card was harsh he understands that it was inappropriate. Instead, Thorn and he sat there being amazed that anyone could have thought...

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Sounds reasonable although it shows how poor Super Rugby crowds are overall. I would hope that the rugby strongholds of Sydney and Brisbane would bring in significantly higher crowds than Melbourne or Canberra

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I'm confused. Who estimated that number on the night?

    Super Round 2, 2018 - Rebels V Reds @ AAMI Park

Not surprised. Everyone there knew it was red including the referee. Ok, maybe Higgers thought it should have been a penalty the other way.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Thanks Lou Actually no. 10k is in line with my view after being to 90% of Rebels games based on the crowd locations and in and out of the ground. Definitely more than almost any game from last year but well down on any prior year. Of course, if the Rebels had been lying every game historically...

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Except everyone is on the other side. They don’t open half of the photographed side at the moment as there has been no need and it saves costs. 10k doesn’t surprise me based on how historical crowds have looked.

    Rebels 2018

First try - spread it wide leading to a score Fifth Try - a gentle stroll through the two locks to score himself Sixth Try - scored in the corner Can't remember the second try other than English trying to stuff it up by not passing and it isn't in the highlights but 2 tries and an assist isn't...

    Super Round 2, 2018 - Rebels V Reds @ AAMI Park

Hmm ... best on field for me was definitely Genia. Maddocks was my no 2 due to his immense defensive efforts. Didn’t know that they played for the Force previously.
  19. James Pettifer

    Rebels 2018

Yeah, didn’t realise that until much later. Just a bit of rust (hopefully) and glad we have a few more games befor we play a NZ team

    Rebels 2018

A win. An ugly win but given I missed last years win as I was overseas any win will do. Positives - Genia. €^{% he is good. Was playing at a different level than everyone else - Maddocks (that was Maddocks at 14 wasn’t it?). Great in defence. Never gave up and almost always got his man. Really...
