    The Israel Folau saga

The problem I have with that article, is that the post is still up and Folau refuses to commit to not doing it again.
  2. James Pettifer

    The Israel Folau saga

And noting that the post is still up on instagram with it being reported that if he removed the post then that would show contrition and his charge would be less and that it is reported that he intends to breach the code of conduct in the future by doing the same thing again. If the reports...

    The Israel Folau saga

I wouldn't agree with his view but he should have the ability to say what he wants in private. It would be likely that videoing of it and releasing on the internet would be a crime (unless he approved of it). If he removed the existing post and said he would stick away from similar...

    The Israel Folau saga

There is a lot less support in the community for antisemitism - I doubt he would have got as much the support from the right wing commenters - and the antisemitism groups are very aggressive with regards to anything that could be considered antisemitic.

Or Jews ... although the Jews are better resourced to fight anti-semitism as they have lots of practice in being discriminated against The issue I have is that, like it or not, Izzy is a high profile public figure who has influence. He is paid a huge amount of money partially due to that...

    The Israel Folau saga

And Folau has made clear that he intends to keep on posting similar things - so that option is out.

    The Israel Folau saga

Folau isn't the driver behind many peoples view on these public figures. At least from my perspective, they are people whose opinions that I have tended to avoid for a long time.

    The Israel Folau saga

It will also mean that any team that signs him on knows that they are going to get more of the same. His market value will drop significantly if this statement is true.

    The Israel Folau saga

I suspect the case was very simple from RA's perspective. Here is the code of conduct. Here is where Izzy breached it last year. Here are the minutes of the discussions we had with him. Here is where Izzy breached the same section again this year. I suspect that lots of the time was from...

Same here. My US based company advertises that it gets 100% on the HRC survey on LGBTQ workplace equality and it is clear they expectations they set with regards to discrimination and social media.

    The Israel Folau saga

Probably the same from most of those who think he should be sacked. My personal view is that many of those who are pro keeping him would change their view to that he should be sacked. I would be surprised if Alan Jones would be defending similar comments from a muslim with the same intensity.

    The Israel Folau saga

Yeah, that would be good to actually get the questions. Anytime I see the results of a poll I always go back to the Yes Prime Minister scene where Bernard is shown how he can be both pro and anti conscription within a couple of minutes by different leading questions. I do note that the...

    The Israel Folau saga

Social media has a lot of losers and very few winners. Many people have had their lives or careers ruined due to social media posts. In some cases they were bad jokes taken out of context from non-public figures.
  14. James Pettifer

    The Israel Folau saga

He is a repeat offender and has shown no public contrition for the impact his statements have on the LGBTIQ community or on rugby at large. He has had heavy involvement in the Bingham cup in the past. And here is his comments on the comments made between the Brumbies and Waratahs back in...

    The Israel Folau saga

And how many potentially great players who are gay have been historically ostracised? How many have been quiet about their sexuality due to comments such as Folau's? Jason Ball (AFL player who came out as gay) discussed the impacts that these sort of comments had on him -...

    Rd 9: Rebels v Stormers - Fri 12th @7:45pm

Well that was pretty atrocious. By far the worst game they have played all year - and that is pretty much the case for every player in the team. The Stormers did put them under immense pressure but the screw ups were just one after another. I think we call that mistake ridden. Left at least...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

    Crowds are pretty bad v Glasgow - 4700 v Ulster - 5063 v Cardiff - 4423 v Munster - 3368 v Benetton - 2846 v Zebra - 6500 The Kings are materially worse - 2 games less than $1500

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Pro 14 crowd update - South African Teams - Low point - Southern Kings v Leinster - attendance 1142 That must be getting to terminal level and really strongly suggests that South Africa probably won't want to move all their teams to the Pro14 anytime soon

    Rebels 2019

Of course barely a peep around other sporting teams with Thai Air - even those actually playing soccer West Sydney Wanderers for example

    Rebels 2019

I'm sensing that he isn't exactly happy with the decision Thorne made to bench him for the season. Like him or hate him, Cooper is clearly in the top 2 fly halves in Australia - paying him lots of money to not play SuperRugby in some team is insane.
