    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Some great things have come from clubs / unions rebelling against the powers to be in rugby previously. :)

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Your opinion on the Jets (and many bears fans would attest to) should be a big word of warning to the ARU before they boot perth or melbourne.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Ok we are sort of commenting on the same but different things. I agree that making things complicated does not make things more entertaining from a product perspective. I disagree though, that a complicated rule book makes things intellectually more challenging. Use the american sports and...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

For players Union and League do compete because the skills are more transferable. Rugby Union a thinking mans game, just because theres more variety in play options doesnt mean it requires more thought (compared to league). To be honest some notion that AFL / Union are more intellectual...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

tbh I think this is the best comment for the last couple of pages. I also think all contact sport is going to be on the nose in future years as the world becomes more santised.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Which rugby league team do you support.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Rugby is growing world wide against limited competition for other contact heavy sports. the first and obvious step for rugby is to address the rule book and the officiating, you cant have teams making a game plan around winning penalties, penalties should be through the fault of the other side...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Thorough post. But just on the above point. If you have a cultural shift to make it much more inclusive, ie its not a game for "rich" people etc etc but for the masses? What happens to all the fans who follow the game primarily because of its "status"...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

These guys are hardly the bearers of good news. IMO Bill Pulver is putting on a better performance then Clyne. TBH the focus on the grass roots is refreshing. Good on them. One can only hope the peanuts at NRL HQ in dealing with club grants / celery cap issues they also come to the same pro...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

IMO rugbys downfall has come down to two things. Contact sport in general is going down with the demographics of the nation. AFL hit sydney hard and got the most value out of more rugby prevelant areas. Rugby has never really changed its product much and for a long time at the very least it...

2017 TV ratings and crowd figures

tbh its not about opinions being heard, supporters doing the hard work or strategy. Like any business its about two things. 1 - the product 2 - selling the product

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Brumbies have a contract with ACT govt to play there, they get some cash out of it. Also the ACT is far closer to sydney and in the middle of nsw.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The NRL is sydney centric The AFL is melbourne centric The premier league, I imagine is manchester / london centric. How many fans of a super rugby franchise are there that would not support there local (which ever clubs they feel a connection to) club. Converserly, I imagine there are many...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I would like to see like a premier league style comp for rugby. The say top 10 clubs around australia play in a "premier league" with all the clubs fitting in below in semi professional to amateurs. Then the top 4 or so run up against the top clubs from the bartercard nz comp and whatever...

    The League Media

TBH you can criticize the NRL stance on DV on its own. However, if you are betting on your opposite number to score, you need to be banned from the game.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Good contract for the kid, if anything you kind of have to play him firsts now...

    Refereeing decisions

Well didn't she just enter through australia's gate instead of NZ gate. Though, there would be a rule saying you must enter through your own teams gate?

    Wallaby Coaching Staff

Just read the EJ (Eddie Jones) bought in ryles to help with englands defence. I daresay the wallabies might get some vengeance there with that powder puff teaching them to hit.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I think all major winter codes drag their season on too long.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

The hostility was unnecessary as was the dig at league (even though it wasn't intended that way).
