    Waratahs 2014

Yep, we've only been hit by injuries in the outside backs -- the deepest part of our squad.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Kepu > Ryan Cheika starts Ryan because he better suits the style of play that the Waratahs want, especially early in the game. He's a work-rate prop who runs very well. Kepu is more experienced, much stronger in the scrum and more skilled, but for the Tahs he is better in short bursts. Link...

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

Yeah, I try to avoid it too, but I really thought he was not good. I don't have a problem with letting the game flow, but there were some bad ones -- AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) impeded, obvious offside on the Chiefs try, etc. But we won the game an comprehensively at that. Waratahs were the better side for 60...

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

To be clear, I'd prefer to see AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13. I just don't think we will.

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is in career best form at 13, at least in terms of his Super Rugby play. But I suspect he'll end up on the wing for the Wallabies due to the shortage of players at that position.

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

Not only was the grounding questionable, it was clearly offside too.

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

Not sure how they missed AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) being taken out. Although in fairness, there was a lot of empty space and nothing else happening so Pollock had to try really, really hard to miss that one.

Reds v Highlanders Friday 30th May

The Clan just kicked that game away. What the fuck were they thinking? Get out of jail for the Reds.

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

I don't think this is quite right. Crawford was very slow coming back from injury, which enabled others to get ahead of him in the pecking order. He also came out of nowhere last year, so it's not surprising to have him backslide a bit, especially after an injury. Carraro offers a much-needed...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Yes, but by the same token the new laws seem to have made scrummaging even less important in Super Rugby (or at least not an essential element of success). Teams like the Waratahs don't use it as a weapon as such, but simply as a platform for attach. Link was ahead of the curve in this regard --...

Yep, if Cooper was healthy it'd be 10. Cooper 12. To'omua and Beale/Foley on the bench. No question.

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

Tough for Crawford to be on the outer, but Horne too good and Carraro too flexible.

Chiefs vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Round 16 2014

I'm not optimistic, but reckon it'll be a bloody close game either way and definitely has the potential to be one of the matches of the season.

    Waratahs 2014

Foley's success rate of 76% isn't terrible, but the Waratahs turn down a lot of kicks in part because they know his range is limited.

    Rebel v Tahs, round 15 2014

You're not going to catch anything with that rancid bait.

Kinda the point, I think. Palu's cleanouts are very effective, which makes him one of the key reasons that the Waratahs are able to go forward so consistently.

    Rebel v Tahs, round 15 2014

Kepu, TPN and Fat Cat are a pretty good front row, in case anyone forgot.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

As a Waratahs member, I have had the pleasure of watching Foley fall off and miss tackles plenty of times the last two seasons. Suggesting he was rubbish was overstating it, but he's not a "great defender at 10". Just my opinion from having watched him play a lot of 15-man rugby -- nowhere near...

Beale is a far better defender than Foley. Which is not to say he's good, just that he's much better than rubbish.
