    NSW AAGPS 2019

Was at the game. Remember it well. It was an exceptional Scots side in 2014 that swept all before them. 10 out of 10 wins in the home & away GPS format. Only disappointment was that Jack Maddocks played for the 3rds!

There is a glimmer of hope Black & White... The Newington backs have great potential but simply didn't get enough ball. A one dimensional approach, using big islander forwards to hit up close to the set piece starved them of possession. Simply didn't work today, Scots too good in defence. This...

41 to 5 full time at Bellevue Hill. 22-0 in the 2nd half to Scots. Newington forwards looking very weary towards the end. Season looking more hopeful this week. Scots back to the standards and form of recent years. New lacking match fitness in both the firsts and seconds. Faded badly in both games.

Thanks Black and White. Good that the New boys are match fit earlier this season. I hear great things about this Newington backline. Some real talent by all accounts. Should be an enthralling contest. Will post some thoughts on the game later. Hoping that New have a good season. They've come up...

An alarming absence of bicep. He should have developed bigger muscles from simply raising the pies and beers to his lips. Great photo Joker!

Scots need to step up but I think they'll overcome Newington regardless. If recent years are anything to go by the Newington pack will start the season lacking match fitness and improve as the season wears on. Should be a close contest though. Scots by 10.

I was at the game. Early season it may be but a lot of errors from both sides. Scots will have to improve significantly to be a contender this year. Set piece was atrocious. Scrums messy and struggled to win their own lineouts. The potential is there but combinations just weren't working. The...

A very happy new year to you all. Predictions already I see. No surprises for guessing who Joker fancies through his single eye. However my money this year is on Kings. Strength across the paddock and a couple of real stars returning. They will be closely challenged by the boys from Bellevue...

New Blog Post: 2018 NSW GPS Season Review

Great work gentlemen. A very thorough and balanced summary of the season. It turned out to be a heart stopper right to the very last seconds of play in the fading light at Lane Cove. And a big thank you to you Joker for all the commentary and humour.

That is quite a team. Anything less than outright victory next year would be hugely disappointing for the Joeys faithful. Newington and Kings seem to be touted as the biggest threats to Joeys dominance. Back to being underdogs for those in gold from Bellevue Hill. I just hope we can keep the...

    NSW AAGPS 2018

Let me first say that Kings won fair and square but it did affect the last few minutes. Scots were a point down rather than a point up with a few minutes remaining and took a long penalty kick at goal which bounced off the post. With a one point buffer rather than deficit they may well have...

    NSW AAGPS 2018

I think you're correct Rich. The kicking game just didn't work when we had to default to it. Smart teams in the second half of the season hung on to the ball and starved Scots of possession. Rarely did we benefit from kicking it back to them and the box kick option was tragic............it needs...

Sure If it's untrue, it's a low act to make a false accusation. What irked me was the way it was summarily dismissed as sour grapes by Johnny based on nothing more than he was there and didn't see anything. To the Joeys faithful the thought that some of their supporters might have done something...

Johnny To quickly dismiss this sort of accusation and attempt to quickly sweep it under the carpet is wrong. If anything happened it should be called out. The 'I didn't see anything, that's bulldust' defence doesn't cut it. The school and Joeys old boy network should be concerned and want to...

It's turning out to be an enthralling GPS competition. Shore whilst beaten each week have fully justified their place in the competition with some gutsy performances. Newington have proved that on their day they can beat the best and will be frustrated by their slow start to the season...
