    Tri Nations Game 3 New Zealand v Australia - Saturday 6 August 2011 - 3N2011

For team predictions Im hoping Samo will get a start ahead of McCalman. Not that McCalman has done badly, he has done okay! But I rate Samo pretty highly and think he deserves a shot after an outstanding super 15 season. Curious to see how our scrum will hold up.

    Returns from injury

I would argue the only good thing in the Tahs attack was Mitchell and BURGRESS! He hardly limits the attack - I see burgess as an attacking halfback more then a defensive one. IMO Phipps is an okay halfback, he has a great pass and does everything else good but not outstanding. Burgess has a few...

    Returns from injury

I'm also pretty keen for Burgess' return. I don't think Phipps is a good enough back-up for Genia and Burgess just adds so much intensity off the bench. He doesnt quite have the passing game or control things the way Genia does but on his game he adds something else, great defender and a lot of...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Since Elsoms return from Ireland he has got to be one of Australia's most over-rated players. At the time there were no other 6's around but now we have Higgers and Samo who are very impactful players. Higgers is playing a tighter game these days (take a look at the super 15 final) and deserves...

    Pat McCabe

Personally I think everyone will be very surprised with how well McCabe will go at 12. Im more worried with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13, his distribution skills are much worse then McCabes. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is also a bit of a ball hog, which was fine when he was in form and getting over the advantage line but now that he is...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Good defender, Solid player. But if you listen to the Podcast with Mitchell in it, he states that wingers need to be firstly good finishers. Its what they are built to do. Turner is a poor finisher in my opinion and I would much rather any of the Reds wingers Digby, Davies, Morahan. Even...

    O'Connor at 12 and McCabe at 13

you make a good point waratahjesus, With JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing there could possibly be too many cooks! A stronger harder runner is definitely warranted. However i guess it comes down to the fact that JOC (James O'Connor) had a blinder of a super 15 season and Deans (or anyone else for that matter) does not have the...

    Strength & Size

Sprinters are big but they run in straight lines for short distances! Riugby players also need to be agile. I dont think JOC (James O'Connor) or Cooper would be effective steppers if they had an extra 5Kgs on them. Samoans, Lomu, Sivivatu are genetice freaks, Aus simply does not have the same playing stocks NZ...

    strategies for the tri nations

That's the spirit Bruce! You may have exaggerated your point immensely but I would have to agree we do not have a massive mental advantage. The All Blacks will ALWAYS believe they should win, especially when playing in NZ. I do believe however that the wallabies are also in that same...

    Brumbies 2012

Valentine should stay as back-up, He is pretty good for the first half of games. Should have a decent impact off the bench. I'm also all for McCabe in the centres next year. Im actually pretty excited about the prospects of next year. We finally get to see how To'omua will go as a regular...

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

There is no way Turner deserves it over Davies. McCabe had a good season and I wouldnt be disappointed to see him get a start. But I agree with vidiot... Turner needs a GPS to find the try line. He would not have scored half the tries Davies did this season had he played in his shoes.

The case for Anthony Fainga'a to wear the Green and Gold

You make a good point in saying that teams will try and shut down Quade and will leave other play-makers unattended. But we already have 3 play makers that are certain to be in the back-line; Cooper, Beale and JOC (James O'Connor). Beale can enter the line from fullback any time and fill that role. If JOC (James O'Connor) is on...

The case for Anthony Fainga'a to wear the Green and Gold

Has anyone thought about McCabe at 12? He is also very solid on defence and can make a dominate tackle but unlike Fainga he actually has a good attacking game as well. He frequently breaks the line and i hear he played at 5/8 when he was younger. A solid hard player like him is the perfect...

Fitting SBW and Nonu into the AB team

The ABs are certainly in a good position in their mid-field when some great players like SBW, Nonu, Smith, Fruen will miss out on a starting spot. I think SBW is very capable at both 12 and 13, Nonu and SBW midfield sounds very powerful to me! However I do rate Conrad Smith very highly but I...

    Semifinal 1: Reds V Blues

You would have to say Davies played himself into the wallabies extended squad. He would definitely be 3rd choice winger behind only Mitchell and Digby.

    Sitaleki Timani

Its a real shame if doesn't play super rugby again or attempt to get into the wallabies. If he had another season to prove himself im sure he would be be high contention for a spot. Maybe we should post-pone the RWC for one year?

    Why is Tom Carter unpickable?

looking at those stats... its says he has had the MOST minutes out of all the centres but he has very low Try assists, tackle busts, offloads and line breaks. He's playing more then everyone else but his stat's are lower in these categories? That signals to me he is only good at one thing, defence.
