    Rugby News from unexpected places

They clearly hadn't been paying attention to Brazil's growing form particularly at home.

    The League Media

Very biased. Perhaps once upon a time some 30 years ago the above statement may have been true. But it most certainly isn't now. You may not have noticed but there's actually quite a lot of that tackle, pass, run stuff in Rugby as well. The biggest difference in the space available. League...

    The League Media

An article in the SMH with Sam Burgess about how his time in Rugby made him mentally tougher. Pressure and all. He seems quite careful not to say which he thought was physically tougher. Until the last paragraph. He mentions he had to work on his passing game, his kicking game. He worked more...

    Sunwolves v Lions Rnd 1 2016

Yeah, good start for the two of the new franchises. Certainly see at least one Nth American franchise on the horizon. Well, assuming ProRugby doesn't succeed which I actually want to see succeed. Nonetheless a successful beginning to Super Rugby's new future. I actually have to chuckle at the idea tge...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Don't know. I do know that they have been developing a national academy as a means to monitor and develop the top 100 players in the country. WR (World Rugby) reported on that. They also have received a lot more investment in terms of junior and club development. I think most importantly it stems from a Union...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

A lot of young guys. He's been mixing and matching throughout the Championship as a means of building depth and finding his best combos for the June window. Still, big result for Brazil. On paper the Eagles still should have been too strong. The travel section appears to be really dangerous in...

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

I've found over recent years that it's harder to 'feel the hate' for the Reds. Particularly over the past few seasons. Watching the Tahs effectively allow the Reds to run at them for 60 minutes last night with only one try for that effort while being essentially clueless for the rest of that...

    Reds 2016

That's what I thought initially but there was an angle showing a hard with wrist strapping touching the ball. The only player involved in that action with wrist strapping was CFS.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

After the first game of the Americas Rugby Championship he was very open about his desire to see Super Rugby really embrace new markets. He spoke primarily about the Americas itself but he may have more ambitious plans. In the post Houston interview he hinted at ambitions to see more Argentine...

    Sunwolves v Lions Rnd 1 2016

Sorry, I meant the games in Tokyo.

    Sunwolves v Lions Rnd 1 2016

Evidently the first few home games are sold out. Good start for the franchise.

    O'Connor suffers heart attack

Yep. As a kid I remember the shock my parents felt when a family friend died of a heart attack in his early 30s. Triathlete among other sports. Actually died on a run.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Yeah not too bad I guess. Sometimes I wonder what people want. Both of those games were bloody good for differing reasons. Deserve more people watching.

Brumbies vs Hurricanes Round 1 2016

Well, the coaching staff obviously thought different. He'll get his shots this season. Rugby is a hugely physical game and squad depth is very important.

Brumbies vs Hurricanes Round 1 2016

I think we'll see it with most if not allvthe Aus sides. It was quite evident in the Force/Canes trial in Gosford that the Force we're noticeably quicker and fitter as well.

Brumbies vs Hurricanes Round 1 2016

Hard to tell. They look noticeably quicker and fitter than the Canes. I actually think we're beginning to see the NRC effect flow through. Players are arriving at preseason significantly fitter and that allows you to work harder and maintain skills a lot longer.

Brumbies vs Hurricanes Round 1 2016

Geez..what do they need to do to get Canberrans to show up?
  18. WorkingClassRugger

Brumbies vs Hurricanes Round 1 2016

Yeah, good game to watch from a neutral perspective. Actually both games have been so far.

    Ideas for NRC

Getting two games televised is great. Actually think it will help the ratings as well.

    Los Jaguares 2016

    Yeah. Should be easy beats.
