Interesting choice in Damian de Allende for the Boks @12, misses more tackles than Beale

sorry, I was using the descriptions to describe attributes, not where they pack in the scrum

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

He hasn't been "selected", like JOC (James O'Connor), he is in a form of re-hab

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Jones was in the squads last season, now not, despite having a decent season. I wonder what Chieka wasn't happy with? I actually don't think Jones was competing directly for a spot with the selected locks, but Dennis & Fardy as that 6/5 hybrid. In the end Cheika picked an extra specialist...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yep, he hasn't had a great year, what we don't know is how much of the year he was trying to play through the back injury. It does highlight the paucity of decent TH rock movers around. If he gets back to the Reds, I expect to see him flourish under Thorn & Styles I expect the rush would be...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Doesn't he first have to: a) get fit b) get clearance c) sign a ARU contract Before he gets in any Wob queue ............

ARU - Taskforce designed to reform Brisbane and Sydney Premier Rugby

Club rugby is simply screwed, they have no money, no real coverage to justify sponsors apart from a "fan". The ARC will grow in importance and club rugby will end up/stay amateur (with some clubs having the ability to be sort of semi-professional at the top)

yep, expect to see the same thing for the wobs

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yeah, the idea of putting a 140kg unit with soft hands to attract defenders around the 12 had no merit at all

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

He has had his head up Kepu's arse for most of this season with nary an issue on his side from lack of weight at scrum time As for the lineout, I still don't know why he isn't used more as a lifter, he could send a unit rather high with some practice

Funny, with no stats to back it up, I thought the Tahs was much better this season And how do they define "success" Typos by SwiftKey, errors in tone by me

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

"We" don't, the coaches do. Let me put it another way if a player misses the most of the S15 season like say Carter or Cooper, do we judge them on the quality of the minutes played only this season or a few games of club they may play after the S15 season, or their work on the training paddock...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I really don't see a problem with the rule, they have signed to play and the coach sees value in the selection. It is a fair bit better IMHO than the Gits rule Typos by SwiftKey, errors in tone by me

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

That makes sense, and it isn't surprising to see unit out of the system for a while being given plenty of time in training to get up to speed.

I don't understand this hand wringing for Beale, he is at best a bench option on the fringe of the squad
  17. fatprop

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

That does depend on where he is playing, 12 - yep 15 - he generally does OK
  18. fatprop

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

and he will only become a "Red", so meh

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I like the 2 "15s" approach to the back three, but AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is a better, safer option Beale's defensive issues can be really exploited with him standing there lonely on the blindside, against a decent scrum, he could end having to make some rather difficult decisions around slowing down a rampaging...
