Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

The position is that the SS could be that pathway - if the ARU directed the resources of the NRC etc to the top clubs. I don't agree with that position but let's at least be clear what the thinking is

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

I guess the ABC would argue that if it's available for live streaming then taxpayer money is not required for interested people to see the games.

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

There's a third option - around the calibre of athlete each country is getting into their development programs isn't there?

1:13 on youtube if timed link doesn't work. Looks like that must be it. Doesn't loook like there's anything in it but Retallick sure goes down.

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

Think you're right there. The worrying thing is that he is at his best and still two tries came off his clearing kicks, a third came from another kicker because they don't want to use Foley as the primary clearance kicker and he missed 2 very gettable penalties. QC (Quade Cooper) brings his own issues of...

    Tackle stats Coleman - 10 Moore - 7 Mumm - 7 Simmons - 6 Hooper - 6 Timani - 5 Arnold - 5 Missed tackles Speight - 5 (!) Hodge - 4 DHP - 2 Hooper - 2 Pocock - 2 Looking at the stats, pretty big half hour by Rob Simmons. 6 tackles, 0 misses, 7 runs for 38m. Will be interesting to see Force...

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

Most disappointing thing for me is how we keep making the same mistakes. Here's a list of the ABs trys - you could have written these after just about every game. 1st try ABs get possession from a shallow kick from Foley, then poor miss from Hodge in the centres 2nd try Lineout after scrum...

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

The ARU don't employ a huge amount of development officers. What they do do is supply funding and facilitate the participation fee so that the member unions can employ development officers. Papworth, NFJ et al know this, which is why their funding letter was so disingenuous.

I heard he bugged the Wallabies hotel room

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

Definately the latter. Hopefully he's fit. With Foley, Cooper, DHP and Izzy on the field you have four guys and three positions out of the line. Bring Speight in and the weak link looks a lot less weak. Don't understand the first point. Why would you leave your weaker defensive players in...

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

Reg any idea why the Queensland Prem sides aren't as vocal around this issue over the last few years as the Shute Shield teams? Is it just a personality thing? They never got as much money, so do they not miss it as much?

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

Unfortunately P.tah I think this sort of thing is inevitable when it is so very difficult for our ex-wallabies, tahs and Reds to get into the governance, leadership and positions of influence within the game

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

The ARU are pretty good really. NZRU have just 5 main line items Game development Representative teams Competitions (?) Governance and financial Provincial Union grants They're much better with their governance scorecard but the accounts are pretty much a mystery. It makes any attempt to...

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

Well if he's smart, next year Billy P will roll up all the community Rugby spend, age group and high performance costs, the salaries of everyone at ARU HQ with pathways or participation in their job titles, any other grants the ARU give out, and the member unions distributions. He'll account...

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

Should probably quote Pulver's response if that's the part you are worried about QH Let's take him at his word for the moment and add in that state union contribution - we're at $12.5m or just about that 15% that England is spending......
