    Round 5: Lions v Rebels - Sun12:05am @Emirates Park

Look, no doubt you are right in absolute terms RN, but I have to wonder if the late arrival of the Rebels' Wallaby contingent and the disruptive preparation for the game might not have led to the drop off in form at the end of this particular game?

    Round 5: Lions v Rebels - Sun12:05am @Emirates Park

Have another look at the roster RN. Only Coleman as a current Wallaby in the forwards, and Genia, Koroibete/Maddocks and DHP in the backs. Compare with current Wallabies in the Tahs - Kepu, Simmons, Dempsey, Hooper, Phipps, Foley, Beale and Folau. Which side is underperforming?

    Reds 2019

Seems to have dropped a fair bit of weight from last year.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

With you KOB on Banks. His potential is obvious, but there are aspects of his game that still need more polish to be considered at Wallaby level. Decision making at the forefront. I would have him in front of one or two of those you mention, but not yet in the Wallaby 23. Hunt yet has to prove...

    Round 5, Sunwolves v Reds, 16/3 @ Tokyo

McDermott coming on turned the game for the Reds. Good to see another Aussie team with a win.

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

Most of those sorts of scrums where the Tahs were in reverse, the back row was disengaging before anything happened with either front row.

    Round 5, Sunwolves v Reds, 16/3 @ Tokyo

Lucas is not the No 10 the Reds are looking for. Just another shoveller. Stewart looks better at 15 than 10. Sunwolves No 9 is a very good player.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Good side R3. I wouldn't have Hunt at 13 - he hasn't played any time in the position this year as far as I know. I would also not have Beale in the side at all. He is all reputation these days. He has almost no impact on a game. 13 I would have Kuridrani and 15 would be DHP. I am also a bit...

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

I do appreciate the defensive efforts put in by Joe Powell, but it was Gordon's sniping around the ruck that put him slightly ahead on the night.

What knock down D? Are yoreferring to Newsome's knock back that caused the ball to go over the try line? If so, you misunderstanding the laws around knock ons. If not, can you elaborate please?

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

One other observation worth noting - I think Christian Lealiifano had an ordinary game again and must have some doubt about retaining his spot. But even so, he outplayed Foley. But of course that is all to do with the dominant scrum for the Brumbies, nothing at all to do with individual skills...

KOB your blue glasses certainly have some sort of effect. The chase between Newsome and Taliauli was right on the ball and one of then would have won that race had it not been for Lonergan's more direct line to where the ball bounced.

I do not think that's right KOB. Would you like to quote the relevant law?

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

No. A try can be scored with downward pressure by the hands, arms and torso. As far as I am aware, there is no mention at all in the laws of being in control of the ball. Any call to disallow a try on the basis of not being in control of the ball is apparently a wrong call.

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

OK, as I forecast was a bit of an arm wrestle with few skills on display by both sides. Surprisinglyat least to me, the Tahs didn't really get their backline working often enough. I thought McCaffrey outplayed Dempsey in the 8 spots. The Brumbies' locks were better and the scrum lineouts were...

There is, but he's playing lock.

    Rebels 2019

If 7s are ranked so lowly in the NH, they must be shaking their heads in bewilderment at the Wallabies continually playing two of them (arguably sometimes three of them) in test matches since 2015.

    Your favourite Wallaby XV

OK, Robinson, Paul, Palmer, Harrison, Vickerman, Fardy, Smith, McMahon, Gregan, Larkham, Roff, Horan, Mortlock, Rathbone, Latham. Would like to put Poey in there too but can't use him at 8 on principle. Ben Tune is unlucky to miss out. On reflection, Totai Kefu should have the No 8 spot.

Seamas Smith I understand is a No 9, and I think Will Goddard might play there as well. Also, pretty sure Osborne had time in the trials this year on the side of the scrum. If he's who I am thinking of, then he looked more than handy.

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

See, I see the wing situation completely the opposite. Henry has improved this year after a couple of poor years while Muirhead is simply no contest for any of the bigger wingers going round. It is my clear impression that more tries and metres gained by the oppositions have been down Muirhead's...
