    R3 - Reds vs. Crusaders - Suncorp

I hope not Strewth, but it does look like interpretation might come into it. I'd much prefer the situation described by WOB above.

Yeah, well that's just nobody atm. Maybe FF (Folau Fainga'a) doesn't hit too many rucks to secure possession (I haven't really noticed) because that role is more than adequately covered by Slipper, Sio, Ala'alatoa etc, but he is very active at opposition rucks trying to win possession or just slow down the ball...

    Global Rapid Rugby

I imagine a Hunter team in GRR would be attractive to quite a few Shute Shield players who can't get a contract in Super. Another parhway to semi-professional/professional rugby. Not a bad thing. How about Nic White as a returning player?

Round 4 - Festival of Hate - Qld v NSW

Missed the initial tackle for the long range try scored by the fullback (I think). Give him his due he stayed in the chase and was the tackler on the try scorer over the line, but it was a very telling miss in the first place.

I am stjill wondering what happens if a player is otherwise injured and leaves for a HIA, is replaced, but doesn't return to the field after passing the HIA due the other injury. Will the replacement than be required to leave the field? Not necessarily a hypothetical, as there would be...

I tend to agree Slim. Most of the turnover ball on the Brumbies' throw have been when Mann-Rea is the thrower. I think some posters equate lost ball at the Brumbies' lineout with FF (Folau Fainga'a) when his throwing this year has been at least consistently quite good.

Too many Brumbies KOB - honestly. McCaffrey should only be considered at No 8 where he played, so he is competing with Naisarani who gets the nod. No 6 then should be a pick between Cottrell, who had a strong game against the Landers, Tui who was somewhat hot and cold against the Cru, and Samu...

Pretty sure that all of FF (Folau Fainga'a)'s throws were won by the Brumbies against the Canes. Only lost throw I recall was from JM-R when he overthrew on one occasion.

    R3 - Reds vs. Crusaders - Suncorp

Greta description FP. Probably accounts for what a lot of fans see as inconsistent or unfair officiating by the ref. Seems to me that most refs have their favourite areas that they concentrate on and if that is going against one team's usual performance it is up to that team to adjust.

    R3 - Reds vs. Crusaders - Suncorp

I agree that he ought not yet be starting, but to his credit he is hitting most of his tackles with a bit of ferocity that has never been part of Simmons' armory. I compare him to Rob because they look and play so similarly, and both have been heralded as the next big lock in their early days at...

That's how I saw it too. Reds scrum was disappointing until the Smiths came on and then it was mostly on top.

He doesn't have a lot of impact for his size, even when it's the whole of his body weight. But I am starting to think he will be more effective that Rob Simmons (his doppelganger) as he matures.

Yep. Sorovi's passing was very reminiscent of Nick Phipps last night. Mostly not on the mark.

Wow. Thought they were noisy which is good, but no more than 2000 on the side facing the cameras.

Have always regarded Marius to be the best of the SH refs. I was surprised at the first post which (mistakenly) called him out for bias or ineptitude.

    R3 - Brumbies v Hurricanes - 1 March 5:35PM AEDT - Palmy North

Agree Roffy. Canes were fairly weak in the first two outings, but with BB, Savea and Fefita all back this week, they will be a different proposition. As you say, BB can turn a game by himself. This will be a real test for the Brumbies. Had been looking forward to Valetini v Savea, but will...
