    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yes, and I might be wrong but if you were a member of the old NSWRU you had that privilege, as well as a season pass and an allocated seat at the SFS. That was amateur era of course though. The Waratahs are a business franchise so it’s a different model, they don’t sell voting rights. I think...

Yes and no. I just think he isn’t someone who’s cut out to be in the media. He should give the media gig a miss, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have other attributes. He’s not trained to commentate on footy games, not to a paying audience at least. He’s a people manager.

I get your point but I wonder how much actual media training he’s had. If you were sitting at a pub in Sydney watching the Tahs game with him and he was canning the ref it wouldn’t be an issue and the punters would probably go along with him. It’s that he’s meant to be a neutral sports...

I think you are right, and it seems a bit like a consolation prize. I think McLennan knows that the reaction to him even being shortlisted for the CEO role would be pretty terrible, it takes him out of the picture completely and is sort of saying ‘if you want to run a sports administration...

Phil Kearns has been appointed Executive Director of the 2027 RWC bid. It rules him out of the contest for the CEO, and may take him out of commentating from next year too.

Anyone else notice that the league media has been unusually quiet since young Joseph Sua'ali'i didn’t sign on the dotted line on Saturday as was hyped? It did get a passing mention this morning that both codes were giving him some breathing space to consider his options, which is 100% the right...

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

It looks like all the votes are in and as it’s the test run I’ll get this one out early. The official round 5 GAGR team of the week is: 1. S. Sio (BRU) 2. F. Fainga'a (BRU) 3. T. Tupou (RED) 4. A. Blyth (RED) 5. L. Solokai-Loto (RED) 6. R. Valetini (BRU) 7. L. Wright (RED) 8. I. Naisarani...

    Wallabies 2020

more to the point a lot of value is placed on big units up north.
  9. KOB1987

    Wallabies 2020

that's fair but the general consensus here is he isn't a 6. He's much better suited at lock and has been going well there for the Reds this year.

    Wallabies 2020

I wondered that after I posted. The Wallabies/Brumbies front row of Sio/Fainga'a/AAA as an example are all NSW origin, but do they actually live in Canberra or Sydney? In a normal year they are probably only going to get an opportunity to go 'home' from early December to early January, so I'm...

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

I've been collating the results so just some comments/observations: - for the purpose of TOTW I will make the locks interchangeable. However will select correctly for the end of season team. - similar with the wings. - if people select props on the wrong side I will rectify that. However if...

    Wallabies 2020

except for the half that live in Canberra. I don't mind the decision though.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I tend to agree, I was explaining to Wilson what dru was saying. However, it's not a one-off in this example, it's a knockout league, that's the first round.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

    That's what he is getting at I think - Aus1 v NZ4 etc. But there are 5 teams so Aus1 v NZ5, Aus2 v NZ4, Aus3 v NZ3, Aus4 v NZ2, Aus5 v NZ1.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

    And a crowd too.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I didn't see yesterday's game but the Reds v Brumbies game was far superior to the NZ game that preceded it.

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

Louwrens is eligible I think isn’t he? Been here since 2014 unless he went home for a while in that time?

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

That’s a fair point however the posters that do know the difference also know that in many cases the said players can play both sides. If there is dissention we shall assemble an appropriate judiciary.

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

Correct. Wallaby eligible team of the week. No reason you can’t pick Zander though, makes for interesting chat elsewhere if he doesn’t make it.

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

yeah it's a TOW. Sorry if you didn't gel with my lame humour. Just pick the best player of the round in each position, it's cumulative. Edit: I've edited post #2, at that point I was also looking for guidance so apologise for the confusion.
