    Australian Rugby / RA

NRL are going to bend the rules, looks like the clincher. Still well below the RA 'offer' though haha. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/nrl-may-bend-rules-to-allow-Sua'ali'i-to-play-for-souths-early-20200727-p55fws.html

    Australian Rugby / RA

The Twitter has finally jumped on it. Note it's the rugby insiders reporting it, not the NRL ones. LOL. LATEST: Rugby insiders says Schoolboy sensation Joseph Sua'ali'i has received an upgraded and extended deal to stay in the NRL. It’s now a 4 year deal worth over $2m with Souths. He is...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Yeah, I can't read the full article as it's paywalled but it's been out for over an hour and not even the Twitterverse has picked up on it. From the little bit I can see it just looks like more spin. I'm in no way saying that isn't going to be the outcome, just that the article looks like a...

    Australian Rugby / RA

On the reported NRL offer of $1.7m over 3 years, as he can't play till he is 18 you'd think it would have to be weighted towards 2022 and 2023. If I'm right there that probably brings the appeal of the Olympics and being able to play for the Tahs next year to the forefront. On an 18 months...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

According to the press this morning they have 3 plans. The preferred is a TT comp, but they want an equitable partnership in it, not participation in an All Blacks development program. The second option is domestic comp with another 2 or 3 teams added. Plan C is the ramp up the national club...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

that's not silly, would mean 3 games in each country each week instead of 2. Would need to start earlier to finish before the test window. No guarantees there will be inbound tests next year but they need to be allowed for.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

In the current Covid environment it has to be this one. Assuming RA accepts the offer to participate in the All Blacks development program, this option allows us to actually use it as a Wallabies development program. Each nation plays as they are now for 10 weeks, and then assuming Covid...

2020 Super Rugby Round 4, Western Force v Brumbies, Sat 25 July, Leichhardt Oval 7:15pm AEST

Incumbency does count for something and I just feel that DHP has been solid enough, and the other options including Banks not spectacular enough, for him to be dislodged from his spot. At this stage anyway, there are still 5 games to go, at least 6 for The Brumbies.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yeah I was about to say that was an atrocious performance by the Waratahs, not necessarily a reflection on the powerhouse that is the Chiefs.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Maybe RA should add the caveat that NZR have to bolster the Chiefs squad too.

2020 Super Rugby Round 4, Western Force v Brumbies, Sat 25 July, Leichhardt Oval 7:15pm AEST

What Reg said. Those players were mentioned in the context that Banks has been very quiet of late, including last night and therefore was entirely relevant to this thread considering he has been anointed by many as the heir apparent to the Wallabies 15 jersey. As for your other point, I...

2020 Super Rugby Round 4, Western Force v Brumbies, Sat 25 July, Leichhardt Oval 7:15pm AEST

I’m guessing here but the ref might have deemed it dangerous. As far as I know that’s the only clause that allows for an extension to the number of subs.

He’s certainly not a shoe in for the Wallaby gig. In fact Campbell, DHP and even Maddocks have looked better. If To'omua is going to be 10 and TK is a lock for 13 it wouldn’t be ridiculous to consider JOC (James O'Connor) up the back.

2020 Super Rugby Round 4, Western Force v Brumbies, Sat 25 July, Leichhardt Oval 7:15pm AEST

Ok sounds like a glitch. I use the channel 505 option in the live channels instead of the sports specific menus, saves having to reload at the start of every game or having to wait for the broadcast to start. Maybe old school but it works.

2020 Super Rugby Round 4, Western Force v Brumbies, Sat 25 July, Leichhardt Oval 7:15pm AEST

I’ve been watching on Kayo the whole time no issues at all. Maybe a city-centric issue as I’m in the bush, what happened?

    Waratahs 2020

‘Numerous accounts’ being two Jessica Halloran articles and a quote something along the lines of ‘one player said’ and some comments that looked like they were lifted straight out of the Beetoota Advocate. Numerous accounts also have the RA money reported by the league media as being completely...

    Waratahs 2020

Yeah look, I’ve seen him play several times and the lowlights reel would be pretty light on, he doesn’t fuck up much. He’s been playing on the wing though so the challenge for the opposition is to not let the ball get to him, which some of the better opposition managed to do. Genuine...

2020 Super Rugby AU Round 4 Waratahs vs Melbourne Rebels

Gardiner did ruin it a bit, but at the end of the day the Tahs were shit and the Rebels played very well I thought. Waratahs probably threw everything at the Brumbies last week and now need that bye next week. Regroup and get back into it in a fortnight. A bit like Scotland - beat the...
