Super Rugby AU Round 6 - Waratahs vs Reds @ SCG, Saturday 8 August 2020

As per Froggy above I’d still have JOC (James O'Connor) in there. Harrison is coming along nicely but he’s still incomplete, similar Deegan.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 - Waratahs vs Reds @ SCG, Saturday 8 August 2020

It won’t have any bearing on the result but that was a crap decision to disallow Dempsey’s try. The brief was to find a reason to not allow it, there wasn’t one.

    Waratahs 2021

Just one poster looking for a weakness. I think it’s his distribution mostly, he can get through a hole himself but hasn’t put too many others through one. As you point out that’s just a maturity/experience thing.

    Waratahs 2021

True. He’s only played about a quarter of the minutes but FWIW.

    Waratahs 2021

Here’s the head to head with JOC (James O'Connor).

    Waratahs 2021

Presumably you’re going to make any direct comparisons with Noah. So I’ll start with him, Will is 4% worse but with twice as many blokes running at him. So 1) there’s a significant margin of error between the two, and 2) if you’re looking at the absolute number, therein lies an explanation...

    Wallabies 2020

Haha I read the article and then couldn’t be bothered going back to get his name while I was posting here.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

I actually tipped the Rebels. But mostly because I need some upsets. And by 1 point, not 18!

    Wallabies 2020

The Aus reporting this morning that Dan Mackellar will be the Wallabies forward coach. Also that Rennie is pushing for a South African Glasgow colleague to be scrum coach, who is also a physio. Smith points out that Lillicrap also fits that description and highlights what he has done at the...

Number 7s traditionally but yes a close second

    Reds 2020

Terrible, terrible news. Feeling for Jordy.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

^^^^ zero reasons to feel deflated bud. Rebels were outstanding.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

There was a bit of sarcasm in my post. A well known aspect about Cheika’s training camps was to try to replicate the intensity of test footy to work out who was up to it. I always wondered why Banks was ‘shunned’ by Cheika and it seemed that he didn’t pass that test. He may have stuffed up...

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

Agreed. Allegedly it’s because he’s recovering from a foot injury but will come good.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

Hasn’t been a great audition for NZ conditions for Banks, especially if we are going to play all 4 there.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

Rebels playing like their roster reads.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 Rebels v Brumbies, 7.05pm Leichhardt Oval, Friday 7th August

Marika only had to walk over the line himself when he picked that up, no need to pass to Wilkin!

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I don't mind the idea of an NRC as a one season solution, spread the talent around and see how it goes. The only caveat would be that NSW Country and Qld Country need to have a fixed base, not move around the regions. I'm not sure how it would work from a contracting perspective with players...

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

I like his pick for #9 - ‘Will Powell’.

    Australian Rugby / RA

RA but with backers, most notably the federal government. The govt has granted $1m to RA for the preliminary process, I assume he’d be paid from that.
