I agree Genia is our half the most capable of excelling at test level. He’s just not playing to standard. If Cheika can get him to that before the first game then that’s the best out come. Player selection aside, the biggest issue with the attack last year was the absurd wide/wide pattern they...

Serious question UTGs - how do we know that. From my recollection he has never been given that opportunity. And, whilst I know he doesn’t have extensive test experience nor is he a Rookie. He’s been part of the squad for 2-3 years now. As per my post above, I do expect Genia will start, but...

I do agree Cyclo that Genia will most likely start. And look, in honesty what do I know about his work ethic or attitude. But there is just something about the way he conducts himself at times that (IMO) screams complacency. I don’t see that in DHP or Hodge mind you - that is more a straight...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I’m a bit unsure of the logic where a bad game means a couple of the contenders have blown their chance against other options who have played no better than average for most of the season. You retain players for 3 reasons IMO - form, they are demonstrated winners or they have established...

Semi Final - Brumbies vs Jaguares, Sat 29 June, 9:05 am (AEST)

Pocock is outstanding, but I think your looking at that through rose coloured glasses. He certainly pushes the envelope and gets away with heaps.

Well if they fix their line out, straight away they’ll be much more in the contest. It’s hard to look good when your are constantly handing over ball.

Their under fire, that’s for sure. Good chance for them to dig in. Plenty of time left to turn it around. They need to give Fainga’a more to work with in the line out.

    Reds 2020

Interesting story. I’ve already posted twice my reservations, but on the flip side people have their faults and I love a good redemption story. Sure, some people never change but some do. In one sense, he may be a great example to younger guys as a bloke who has been through the wringer of...

The dew gets mentioned pretty often too

Haha - okay. Fair enough - but I like my little world of naive utopia, so I’m going to continue to believe the majority of guys are clean.

Okay, somehow I missed or forgot that. Ignore my post above.

To be fair to him - I do recall reports last time that he was a positive contributor to the team and there were no off field issues. Also, someone mentioned that he carried an injury for a good part of his time there and that contributed to his on field form. Guys like Thurston, Ponting...

Hopefully. But isn’t that what he assured everyone last time too?

    Brumbies (3rd) v Sharks (6th) - Super Rugby 2019 QF 4

Pretty sure one thing you can say about WG is he doesn’t lose sleep over what people think. Actually - that’s not really true. He gets pretty prickly when people knock him, but not to the point he shows any intent to change. Well, that my view from afar at least.

I wouldn’t have called him a ball player as such, but maybe that is just semantics. Certainly he has good catch pass skills and seems to have time and positions his outside player. Importantly he looks to position his outside player too.

I really hope Lealiifano gets a run and kills it. I still remember the year he was playing exceptionally then busted his leg. And then, of course, there was the whole cancer thing. He’s had his share of set backs - would really be great to see him shine in Gold - even if it is likely to be...

If Pocock is fit I think it makes it hard. Not sure we want a squad with Pocock, Hooper and Samu all In it. I guess they can only pick 3 specialist locks + LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto). Edit: Agree on his quality though. In great form.

True BH. But on the flip side, Hanigan is the classic case of a guy who leaves Cheika open to accusations of favouritism. Look - I know you like him, and you have posted numerous times how you think he has improved. I’ll also defend his original selection because, IMO the cupboard was very bare...
