    Reds 2019

Just watched the reply of the U20 game vs. NZ. Seems that youngsters Wood, McReight & Wilson have a lot of potential and seem to fit in nicely with what characteristics Thorn is trying to develop. Will be very interested how they develop/come through over the next 2 yrs. Super Rugby is a...

So - what are the thoughts from the people on the ground. Very happy with a win, and anytime you keep an opposition to nil in a big match suggests to me there is a bit of grit to your team. Based on the write up it sounds like this is a very promising group. It even sounds a bit to me like we...

    Rd 12: Reds v Sunwolves, Lang Park, 3/5/19 @ 7:45pm

That seems a contradiction to me. As you point out both teams were ill disciplined. The only way Gardiner could control it was to penalise and issue cards. He was clearly talking to the players to try and get them to toe the line. Not meaning to be smart - but what would you have done...

I don’t get the criticism of Gardiner. He communicated clearly and when the players kept transgressing he went to the pocket. Every card was spot on under the rules. It’s hardly Gardiner’s fault that the players discipline was so poor.

Fuck - that’s dumb. A lot of cards - but again, as far as I am concerned, Gardiner is spot on.

Reds need some composure. This will be a test of the young guys.

To be fair though he has been spot on. He actually could have sent another one off earlier. The Sun wolves discipline has been terrible.

Sunwolves look like they have decided not to worry about trying to play within the rules now. Edit: but Reds keeping them in it.

Clear yellow for mine. He is paying a heavy price for the professional foul, but the decisions have been spot on.

Just want to see them playing with some consistency. There is talent in the squad, but need them to be able to maintain some form for more than 1 week. The Sunwolves have some really good aspects to their play, but they are ultimately a bottom of the table team and if the Reds aspire to be...

He has been resting players. Rodda, Salakaia-Loto, Naivalu & Tupou have all been rested. He is just in a really hard spot with Kerevi because we are relying on him so much at the moment.
